chevkoch: What's next, duck simulator? O<

monkeydelarge: Hopefully, monkey simulator. Everyday there is no monkey simulator is every day, we gamers are not living life 100%.

Think about how awesome such game would be.
- Protect baby monkeys.
- Swing from tree to tree.
- Fling poo at humans and other animals.
- Fling poo at other monkeys.
- Have lots of monkey sex during mating season by acting like the biggest and best alpha male.
- Taunt your predators because they can't get you while your high up in the trees. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2ptJBEtOB4
- Join a gang of monkeys and steal food from humans in human settlements.
- Beg for food at tourist attractions.
- Constantly watch your surroundings for large cats and other predators so you don't get eaten.
- Run for your life every time, you aren't up high on a tree and see predators coming after you.
- Steal bags from female humans with ninja skills after pretending to be harmless thinking there is food inside(then be sad later when you realize, there is no food inside). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4ok4YyYdSE
- Be a brave alpha baboon hero who will be remembered in baboon history by chasing a cowardly lioness back to all her family and friends...and then die a horrible death. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U0BE13ZpxI RIP, brave baboon.
actually that might be quite fun.
This is the only bear simulator the world needs.

InfraSuperman: This is the only bear simulator the world needs.
Exactly! Realistic and educational, and yet with fun and creative gameplay.

GastonArg: or goat simulator? wait.......

Momo1991: Ameboa's...oh right - Been There, Dan That ;-p
Right?

I was thinking a gold fish simulator might be funny.
Do I get to steal pic-a-nic baskets with my pal Boo Boo and other high jinks against that evil Ranger? Or is this more the stereotypical bear mulling "innocent" humans shtick?

KyleKatarn: I'd play it if it's similar to Wolf or Lion. I doubt I'd back it though. From what little I've seen, it looks like it's meant to be a humorous melee game playing a bear like a human instead of being educational. One thing I hate is people giving animals human characteristics.
avatar
Psyringe: I never heard of "Wolf" or "Lion" - are these existing games, and would they fit my request for realistic, educational, immersive, interactive ways of simulating animal life? If so, do you know where I can find them?

Edit: Ah, I think I found their entries at Mobygames: , and [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game/lion]Lion.

Fascinating. Never knew these existed. Will have to try to grab a working copy somewhere. :)
Well, I'm not supposed to post links, but I'm allowed to just type a name like Abandonia :)
avatar
PaterAlf: There's also a game called WolfQuest. You can download it for free:

Psyringe: Amazing, thanks for the link!

Here I am, lamenting year after year why nobody uses computer gaming to make such products, and there they are, and have been the whole time! ;)
Yeah, some DOS games were quite educational. I appreciate Robinson's Requiem for being educational medically. However, often the gameplay for DOS games was...not good and many people wouldn't consider it fun. I wouldn't mind seeing some modern games like them.

edit: oops, double post. I thought a recent new post was supposed to automatically merge with my last post.

cw8: So it hit its funding in 1 week. Anyone backing?

Would be nice to maul things for once.
That looks pretty awesome. :o

cmdr_flashheart: Not an animal, but personally I'd like a tree simulator.

amok: http://bohmthegame.com/

Anything else?

edit: Not a tree as such, but this may be of interest: https://www.filamentgames.com/products/reach-sun-product
No action or violence? Laaame. I want to be a tree which gets weathered enough at some point to fall on property or people. That would have been awesome.

It seems to come from the Eidos Montreal school of bodily awareness.
Does that mean we're going to punch crazy cultists in the face on an island that's a big bee farm?

Must resist...Nostalgia Critic bear jokes...
I'm waiting for the cat simulator.

Play and tear up something for 5 minutes, nap for two hours, up for 5 minutes for a bite to eat, nap for two hours, up for 5 minutes for my bathroom break, another two hour nap, wake up for 15 minutes when my owner comes home so I can get my daily massage, and yet another 2 hour nap, wake up for my dinner, another 2 hour nap, wait for my owner to go to sleep and then bug the shit out of him. The life of a house cat is truly awesome...sign me up.

Evidently this will be ultra realistic down to the option of having your bear empty out my fucking bird feeder every morning! Thieving furry bastards!

Hope this game is mod-able. Someone can make a tinyE mod where after stealing from a bird feeder, a tentacled man in the house is shaking his fist and yelling obscenities at you.
