I still have PS3 games to dive into if I wanted another library of console titles, but they might have a fighting chance at that price point, if they can get some more must have titles out.

I played Trine 2 on the WiiU at PAX, I highly suggest you try before buying, that analog stick vs. button placement is moronic and really difficult, imo, there's a reason MS and Sony went with similar placement schemes. It could certainly have been more of Frozen Byte's problem than Nintendo's, but demanding a button press and right analog stick manipulation right after works simply awful on it.

In that case you'll be sad to know that many game devs are trying to use it like crazy and avoiding it may be impossible on some titles (at the very least way less efficient).

No, the tablet comes bundled with the console even in the basic package. And spare tablet controllers won't even be sold in the US, according to Nintendo of America (although this will change in the future when games with support for 2 tablets are released).

Well some games like ZombiU's way of using a sniper rifle and putting the gamepad on the floor and seeing a golf ball on the screen and worse singing lyrics on the gamepad screen and not the TV but I am certain games like zombiu and pikmin will do fine better them than playing shooters with the WiiMote nunchuck

It's the same thing as the DS, there will be games which will use the touchscreen in an amazing creative way and there will be those which will use it just as a gimmick. It can be great if the touchscreen displays a map, or an inventory, for example, and it lets you use items/switch equipment on the fly without the need to pause the game to go into the inventory screen.

but what about pausing the game as in stop the game, you don't wanna get hit while your sorting threw the invetory or you gotta go to the bathroom

Being able to manage your inventory on the fly doesn't exclude pausing. :P

Just because I don't generally like a company's output does not mean I can't rationally evaluate their decisions. I had no interest in the Wii but obviously saw it's marketing and strategy as genius.

You gotta hate COD, Halo, Gears of War, God of War, Mass Effect, Uncharted, and all the others, because these games are the same every time. Nintendo is the only big developer to dare to bring innovations to their franchises. And sometimes they get criticized for doing so (remember all the hate Nintendo got with Windwaker's cel-shaded style?).

Actually, I'm sort of with SV on this, to me the last innovative Mario game was Galaxies and we haven't had a game changing Zelda game since Ocarina (playing Ocarina right next to any other Zelda game reminds you that they really haven't added much new, though I did love the art style departure in Windwaker and wish they'd actually have the balls to do that kind of thing more often).

Nintendo is downright dull in the living room, to me, I seriously wonder how long they can recycle old stuff and play the nostalgia card, because to me the games do actually feel the same.

Mass Effect actually did evolve their mechanics between games, I'm not sure I liked all the changes, but they did actually make some. Gears is just boring, even the first one lost its shine years ago, God of War and 2 are largely the same, Uncharted dunno... I guess the point is most of these franchises haven't been around for 3 decades, but Nintendo's franchises have. Many of them haven't had a game-changer title since the Gamecube, which is a bit sad.

Some are still fun, sure, but they do all kind of blur together for me.

After watching the video preview of Mario Bros Wii-u, it looks so similar to the wii mario bros, it's ridiculous. I bet the original wii could run that game. In fact, i reckon the gamecube could handle it:
