At the end of the first half of this season, I thought, "Well, after this cliffhanger there will be nothing left to tease us with"... then I saw Friday's episode.
The final cylon is
*bleep*!? WTF! How can that be? Then there is all this crap with Starbuck;
*bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep*! WTH! And Dee! OMFG, Dee! Why did she have to
*bleeep*? Gawddamn those writers, they have totally sucked me in for another (final) 10 episodes!
I hope those of you that haven't seen it yet appreciate how hard it was for me to not spoil anything. :)
Elmodiddly: Right, so it IS season 5 then! I was wondering wha was going on.
Not really. A normal US television season is about 21 - 23 episodes long. BSG's fourth season was slated for 22 episodes, the first 12 of which had aired already (technically Razor was the first two episodes of the season). The episodes that started airing Friday are the last 10 episodes of that season. They split BSG's season partly because of the writer's strike last year and partly because Sci-Fi is owned by NBC and they didn't want BSG to conflict with NBC's regular shows. Additionally, by holding off on the episodes until now, they ensured that the "biggest" episodes will air during a sweeps month, which will allow NBC to jack up Sci-Fi's advertising rates.
Elideb: AAAARRRRR! I missed it! I thought it started next week.
Damn.
I'm not sure if they do this on Sky, but Sci-Fi airs BSG episodes repeatedly during the weekend after the initial airing and also shows the previous week's episode immediately before the new episode for the week. If Sky does anything similar, I'm sure you'll have an opportunity to catch it.
