The GamersGate version for tis the version I have uses SecuROM. I have no idea if it's the good kind of SecuROM which credits back an activation upon uninstall automatically or the bad kind which has 5 activations and that's your lot Jimmy.

I stopped at a Gamestop on my lunch break, and the boxed version does indeed require internet activation. Up to three kinds of DRM on one title, and the industry wonders why people pirate games.
