StingingVelvet: Man, none of these VGA trailers showed real gameplay. It's like games are ashamed to be games, they just want to be movies.
They know the people watching the VGA's only care about ooh shiny so it's nothing but CGI. At least we can expect ME3 gameplay soon as it's due in March.

That Batman is going to be awesome is a given. Even if they changed absolutely nothing about the gameplay mechanics themselves, just offered up a story that's going to be incredible (and, since it's Paul Dini helping to craft the story, it's going to be incredible), it's a foregone conclusion. It's already happened, we just haven't caught up yet.

Dude, if you have played the first (Asylum) - you'd know that the videos are not pre-rendered.... Which is why I'm eyegasming.

Yeah, I know that it's not ACTUAL gameplay but from what Asylum claimed and then delivered, I have no doubts at all whatsoever.
I hope this game clocks in at around 20 hours. It would be the last new game I've ever need to buy if it was that long.
Here's to hoping Mad Hatter also makes it in, and that Clayface finally gets a non-cameo role too.
In the first trailer, they showed Penguin's club where all the baddies hang out, so here's hoping there's one point where Batman has a crazy row with a room full of our favorite baddies. Maybe to save Catwoman or something.

Clayface should be the main antagonist for the next game, he has a lot more potential for an interesting mindfuck story than most of the other villains. Scarecrow would be good too but he was a bit too strongly featured in arkham asylum

That would be excellent - Clayface could mimic the Joker amongst others...

And yes, Scarecrow did feature a bit much in Asylum BUT! I reckon that whole end part shows where they're going to go with him...

I feel Scarecrow will be a major player in part 3.
Scarecrow was one of the best parts for me. He played a constant cat and mouse game with Batman, made for interesting, if repetitive, boss fights, gave people a really quick but really effective narrative of how Bruce Wayne became Batman (one that was copied very poorly in The Force Unleashed II fuck that game) and how his parents still haunt him. Scarecrow was great.

I have great hopes for this sequel, as Arkham Asulym is probably the best game I've played this year.

What, that section on kamino when you're coming back to confront vader? The only things that had in common with the scarecrow sequences were the dutched camera and the fact he wasn't sure what was going on. There's plenty of things to single out that TFU2 did badly (the section right before you got to kamino springs to mind, why not just force crush the whole fucking planet next time?) but that one is tenuous at best

I concur. I was completely utterly hooked and managed to finish the game. That says something for me.

Well, there's also that it suddenly turns into a long slow walk while you do it, through a narrow hallway, where he starts hallucinating about his past. Seemed pretty blatant to me.

The game videos in the original might not have been but that trailer certainly was.

Then Bane and Croc are going to be major players too.

Although I guess we will see atleast 90% of the villains. This time they're all in the new Asylum

Edit: I hope they stick to Batman. All the other DC heroes and universes are weak compared to this
