Seems nice, nails the atmosphere, but the demo is a bit too easy and hand-holdy.

cogadh: I played the PC demo on Steam and I have to say, what little of it there is was quite impressive. The thing that impressed me the most was probably the fact that my aging, low-end machine was actually able to run the game in the first place. It was also great to hear Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, Mark Hamill voicing the Joker and Arleen Sorkin voicing Harley Quinn again. I really miss their days on the old Batman and Justice League cartoons.

Hmmm... What are your specs? I was thinking about downloading it but was afraid that my laptop wouldn't be able to handle it.

A decent single core can run it fine, so if your lappy is aruond 2 GHZ dual core with a half-decent graphics card, you should run it OK. I think it's only a Unreal 3 engine game.

Guess I'll have to give it a whirl then.

It gets much, much harder as you continue onward. For example, at one point the gargoyle trick won't work anymore. Enemies get more advanced, you upgrade and get new gadgets, and so on. So far the only negative point would be the reptilian battle you have.

DarthKaal: The game looks really good, no doubts there.
But I think I will wait a little before playing it, this games has received SO many promotion videos, talking about it since SO long and SO many times...
I don't like the brainwashing method they used to sell the game...
Now I'm just tired to hear from that game.

Well I never had any interest in the game, I'm not a comic person in general, I only ever tried the batman cartoon because Mark Hamil was voicing the Joker (typically I never managed to see an episode with him doing it) and the only real Batman to me is Adam West. I was as isolated from the game as I could be but then the demo came out and I was bored so I gave it a go. I was pretty damned impressed with the atmosphere and gameplay so I'm going to be buying it
I'd like to get it on PC so I could have a go at making an Adam West mod but I know my laptop would run it notably worse than my 360 would so thats out.

P4 3.0Ghz HT
GeForce 7600GS 256MB
2GB DDR PC3200 RAM
Audigy LS
2 X 120GB EIDE drives
I did have to reduce some of the flashier settings and I couldn't run it at wide screen resolutions (used 1280X1024 instead), but once I did that, it ran great.

In that case, I can probably max it out on my rig. GTX 295, but only dual core though.

I've heard similar from others, expect I'll nab it when it goes on sale/gets a price drop.
While Mark Hamill's acting ability in front of a camera can be argued against (while he worked in Star Wars, other things he appeared in around that time that weren't so good), he's always excelled as a voice actor. He was amazing in Full Throttle, in assorted animated shows, and in this game. I hope he gets more roles, as he's always made a great hero or villain.

He was still excellent in front of a camera. Especially as Christopher Blair in the Wing Commander series.

You have to admit, though, he's pretty god-awful in that WWII movie, Big Red One.

I wouldn't call the demo "easy" so much as "non-interactive."
So, I've logged some time on the game, and I have a few early impressions on it.
I'm still liking it, but I do have a few gripes. Granted, most of my gripes are coming as a comic fanboy and, specifically, a fan of Batman and company in general... (i.e. I think they got the characters "wrong" in a few instances.) But since those aren't gameplay issues, per se, I won't address them here.
Mostly, I'm still enjoying the game, I think it's good, and really, my only complaints are about things like, say, the way the camera defaults to that up-close over-the-shoulder view when you're not in combat and not running. I'd much prefer a straight behind the character chase cam. I'm also not a fan of the way each fight is essentially a "set piece" battle. As in, the game decides "Ok, time for a fight sequence." So it sends in some enemies, and when it does, you're locked in whatever room you're in... granted, it may be a big room, but you're still stuck in it, and you can't disengage from combat. You can maneuver within the room to your heart's content, but you can't back off or whatever, so you have a set amount of health in which to eliminate all the threats. Only after you've done that does your health regenerate. Not a fan of that.
I also don't like how the game doesn't default to a run and you have to hold a button to run. I haven't run into a lot of places yet where I need very precise movements, so walking isn't really necessary, but being able to run from one target to another in a hand to hand engagement in order to keep a combo string going -is- important. And it's a lot more difficult to do that if you're fumbling to hold down the X button while mashing all the other buttons at the same time.
But other than that, I'm a fan of the visuals and the sound and the gameplay itself is just -fun-. It's enjoyable being Batman, mowing down bad guys, using fancy gadgets, flinging Batarangs... all that good stuff.
game is going to be released here in eight days. so i preordered it for 70 dollars...
can't wait.
