since mods and level editor wasn't important i got the console edition of B:AA. Its really worth the effort, i lost 5 hours of gameplay but went at it again due to a glitch in my system, never download something and play a game, for some reason it froze my ps3 (but only with B:AA)
I'm trying to play this right now, and goddamn it, I HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE GFWL. It won't log it. It just refuses to work. I open a ridiculous number of ports as instructed and still nothing.
O WELL, I'll use another offline account. I really shouldn't care about racking up achievement rubbish anyway, m i rite?

Unless you really, really care about e-peni. Funnily enough it was GFWL that was preventing Dirt 2 from even running. Codemasters didn't bother to check the client installed properly. In the end I had to torrent a 'fixed' .iso and use it to activate my legal copy of Dirt 2. Oh DRM how we love thee.

Navagon: Yeah, Live is like that. It's certainly not without its faults and there are some decisions that are so bad they boggle the mind. But once it's up and running it's not so bad.

... Unless you're an unsupported country. Then it's so bad, especially when games with it are sold retail in here

Most countries you can just create an offline profile. There is a shitstorm brewing over Dirt 2 though as it uses GFWL as DRM. Live in an unsupported country and you cant actually play it.

Rohan15: Microsoft for creating Live, the world's worst epidemic since Bird Flu and Steam...oops...

Lofl, you compare GFWL to Steam? Grow up.

Codemasters mustn't mind cracks too much.

I'll grow up the day hell freezes over.

Pretty much everyone on their support forums has being saying they cracked it. GFWL as DRM is the single most stupid thing I have ever heard.

WTF?! Oh yeah, they really thought that one through! Seriously, what is it with GFWL and glaringly obvious oversights? Again I don't think that's the publisher's fault. Like the vestigial DRM that's been left in there. It's things they haven't been informed of that MS have buggered up.

Of course it's not publisher's fault, they even translated the whole game - and when first complaints came, they have apologized and at least provided way to unofficially screw GFWL over... While I'm at that, Microsoft actually seems to put more effort into securing GFWL from this kind of things than into making it work
