Yup, January is usually the month when most people are broke because they already spent their budget elsewhere (Christmas, school, college, new year, taxes etc). For bigger release and surprise they will probably choose some other month. And this is not just limited to digital distributor. Maybe it's common principle in marketing, i don't know.
Good to see it coming here but i ended up getting a free copy as being one of the backers for wasteland 2. Still a non steam version would be nice.

DCT: Question is does he mean just the classic Bard's Tale games or is it going to be the one Inexile did in 2004 with the Apple GS versions of BT 1 and 2 and the Apple 2 version of BT 3?

gyokzoli: Well, you get the old ones free with the new Bard's Tale from 2004 (even on Android/iOS) so I guess all of them will come to GOG.
Probably I was just hoping to have access to a version of Bards Tale 3 that wasn't the apple 2 one.
I only played the xbox version. Looking forward to this provided the price is justified
Hmm, sounds intereresting. Me, though, I got the whole shebang for free on Steam since I backed Wasteland 2. So I kinda hope this is not the 500th release. >_>

QC: I don't know anything about "A Bard's Tale". I tried to look it up and came across this.

I moved my mouse by accident over the girl on the right's chest and the mouse pointer got slapped. Since I'm on an unstable surface, she registered the mouse and slapped it two more times, and I wound up at a California Sexual Harassment Law firm.
Though depending on the language your browser reports you might have to disable JavaScript to see it, or you get flung through some broken redirection and end up on an ubi.com 404 page.

SLP2000: January, after Christmas sales, isn't good month to release the titles they have high hopes about. We'll probably see more "already elsewhere" titles. Chicago 1930, A Vampyre Story, more Cultures, Bard's Tale.
...Transarctica, AvP, Hardwar..
Would this include the Bard's Tale Contruction Set?

SimonG: Even the HB oiesnt offer extra ipad versions. Due to the way apple works, this is probably impossible.
Android versions wouldn't be entirely unthinkable though. The HIB even did special Android bundles, offering both the PC and Android versions.

I would certainly appreciate that. Would be a reason to buy them here again.

Unfortunately there is no market standard yet. AFAIK, the Humble Store bought versions of games do not automatically give you an android version. Only when bought via the bundle. So far, android versions always cost extra.

Fred_DM: as far as i'm concerned, that's GOG playing catch-up with the rest of the digital distribution world. like many others here, i already own The Bard's Tale on Steam. In addition, i also have a physical copy of the game.
While I understand your point - there are many of us who do not want to buy on Steam and are doing nothing but waiting for these games to be released here on GOG.

sounds like a waste of time, tbh. life's too short for that. to me, anyway.

I'd guess that "doing nothing but" is just a figure of speech here. ;)

you know, there are people who say that gaming is a waste of time, because life's too short for that.

You are correct - I own the originals (Single Sleeve with a disk) and have the free giveaway from buying the New Bard's Tale. Its more of a refusal to buy on Steam and wait till its here to have all my digital eggs in one basket.
