For me, it is the other way around. There are a lot of bands that I used to love but now hate. When you become older, your taste in music changes.

I must be getting old, but "The Night Owls" and "It's a long way there" are quite good.

I think that, as you grow older, you learn to recognise what is quality and what isn't. You get exposed to more music, you have a wider knowledge of all songs and then you are more capable of comparing the music you once loved to other music you like or have grown to like.

Some songs that I liked as a kid, are clearly pretty meh - poor lyrics, repetitive tune, lacking body.
And, obviously, some songs just don't last and you get sick of them.

On the other hand, I have a lot of music that I loved when I was little, then ignored when I was a teenager and now grew to love again. The human mind is an odd thing.

I really disliked Snow Patrol based on their popular singles but after listening to their albums I got pretty into them. Incubus was the same way for me back in the day.

I find myself enjoying Joy Division more than I did in my youth. I think I dismissed them because I deigned their sound as "primitive" and emblematic of that early post-punk aesthetic that (I believed) had since been done better. But I reassessed that rather hasty opinion.

I find I can appreciate genres I rejected out of hand too, like old-school Delta Blues or Swing. One artist, a jazzy spoken-word Beatnik guy named Ken Nordine I was faintly impressed when I first heard him 10 years ago, but now I've really come around to his peculiar, shaggy-dog narrative brilliance.

The first time I heard Cranes I absolutely hated the vocals, however, I liked the rest of their sound enough to revisit some of their songs from time to time and eventually the vocals grew on me as well. They are far from being my favourite band but I do enjoy some of their work.

I used to dislike Pink Floyd, but I realized it was more the attitude of the fans; the band itself, I think, deserves the status it has achieved.

I never have liked Pink Floyd and probably never will (I like neither attitudes of the fans, nor the music itself, honestly). Scandal is a band I used to not like, after hearing Shojo S on Bleach that is, but now I own a few albums and even like Shojo S. Probably the fact I didn't think it worked for Bleach (not even saying I like Bleach, just the openings).Nirvana I used to really not like, anymore I like some of their songs. In a manner of speaking, foreign music in general (Italo Brothers, DJ Mania/Tune Up!, Aqua Timez, etc.) I used to really, really not like, but I can't name an American song from the last ten years (okay, Crooked Teeth and some others, but you get it) that I do like too much.

Edit: I used to not like Sting, now I like some of his music but mostly as a person. What turned me around was I found out he didn't like Bono.
80s metal in general I used to not like, now I like quite a bit. Also found Genesis/Phil Collins/Peter Gabriel not very good at first, but anymore I enjoy quite a few of their songs.

I never had any hatred towards bands.

I was dissipointed with the Thrash Metal Band Testament's The Dark Roots of Earth with the fact that it only had 2 songs I liked, but I still love the bands other songs.

Nowadays the Oldies are the 80's. i enjoy much of it, now.

I still enjoy most of the music I grew up with. For the most part, I will mention something that fits in the "I never thought I would be listening to this" category: Classical music. Mostly early period stuff and symphony orchestra. Would have never listened to this stuff while growing up and I enjoy the hell out of it. Still have a lot more to discover.
