I want to play the game and i want to know what mods are there which are a must have when playing the game for the very first time (i played few times up to 3-4 hours per gameplay but this time i want to play whole saga)
I have dvd version of BG saga with four dvds (one for bg1, for sword coast, bg2 and armchair of Bhall}
I honestly don't think there are any "must have" mods, though I'd suggest Unfinished Business (, [url=http://www.pocketplane.net/ub]BG2+exp) to restore a bit of lost content.

oh. cool. downloading right now and atm im patching bg1 and tales so i can have widescreen 1680 1050 resolution.
Before modding your game, get the unofficial fixpack from Gibberlings3 (that site also has various tweaks and mods).
There is also BG Trilogy and TuTu both of which allow BG1 to run in BG2 engine if you have them both.
not sure which is better though as I can't remember.
There is a thread somewhere on these forums about it though.

Head to spell hold studios, they have all the mods youll need and then some.

Okay. installed it. some stuff i skipped as they seemed a bit too hax (no penalty on reputation or making npcs stronger, or reputation having no impact on prices)
@karlallen
yeah. i know about bg tutu. but it also changes the rules to BG2 ones and i don't wanna that. i want bg1 experience with tweaks to make it better instead of changing it completely. :)
and yeah. there was a thread with listed mods but i couldn't find it;.
@begolf00
i know where to find mods but i don't know which mods should i install.

# Shut Up "You Must Gather Your Party ..."
# Unlimited Ammo Stacks
# Unlimited Jewelry and Gem Stacks
# Unlimited Potion Stacks
# Unlimited Scroll Stacks
# Identify All Items
# Easy Spell Learning

FYI, once you install the widescreen mod, DO NOT RE-INSTALL OR CHANGE THE RESOLUTION UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO RE-START YOUR ENTIRE GAME. Changing resolution mid-game will cause going into buildings to crash the game.
-BG Trilogy is a must. Playing the first Baldur's Gate on BG2 engine is awesome.
-Uninished Business adds a few good new missions.
-A few banter packs are also very advisable.
-Whatever you want based on your tastes. If you like combat there are plenty big fight mods...

Banter mods add dialogues and interactions between party members.
I don't think there are any "must have" mods. Playing BG1 on the BG2 engine is nice though, if you're planning to go all the way through.

If you're fine with that, sure. I would set it slightly lower though - 1280x800 or thereabouts, as I think that things get a bit too small at higher resolutions. I usually run BG2 at 1024x768 or 1280x960, even though my 20" screen can support 1600x1200.

maybe but the problem is that it is not the engine only but the rules and other stuff...
