But PC version also lacks extra quests and NPCs, yes? I think this is premium content you have to pay as for regular DLC
No, PC version have all included.

"How much will Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition cost?
The PC and Mac version with be $20 and includes all the DLC. The tablet version will be $10 with the DLC available as in-app purchases."

DodoGeo: Begs the question why add it in the first place?
Older games did that better by having fixed zoom levels like 100%, 75%, 50% with sharp level of detail.

First impression is also really meh.

keeveek: I believe it's because on Full HD everything was too tiny?
So how much HD is it really if everything is a big smear?

Ask them, not me :P I hope they at least added some frames to character animations -.-'

gyokzoli: No, only the interface hasn't aged well and now that's fixed.
The *system* hasn't aged well. Which is to say, it was poo-poo in the first place.

On iPad the game will be priced at $9.99 and come with the new Black Pits adventure and the Monk Rasaad included. The other two new characters Neera and Dorn will be available as in-app purchases, presumably at $4.99 each, to bring the total package’s price in line with the desktop versions which run $19.99.

From the Touch Arcade press release.

Why is that? I think D&D g ames are the best RPG games ever made on PC, except for Fallout, that has at least as good system.

Or you're one of those guys who say "this game is so hard at the beginning, i'm dying constantly" ? ;P

I think the system was perfectly suited to CRPGs, it's as a Pen & Paper system that it stinks.

I'm a little worried, the iPad screenshots appear to be running on the 3rd gen (retina display 2048×1536 resolution). The avatars on screen are tiny, like fingernail sized. Imagine trying to find the tiny loot piles which are usually the size of your character's head or smaller (swords as thin as your guy's arm).

Looks like the gameplay screen isn't scaling up with resolution, just the interface. I guess It won't look too bad if they just pixel double/quadruple for the zoom function.

Exactly my thoughts. As Pen&Paper system it involves too much dice rolling, but when PC makes it for you, it's brilliant. (of course you can play p&p RPG without dice rolling, but it requires very skilled Game Master)

They said that they made a number of tweaks to make the game much more friendly for touch interface, so I hope item picking and especially targeting will be tweaked. Because yes, those character are TINY.

I have a hard enough time with the computer mouse at higher resolutions, the PC/MAC editions need better looting mechanics too!
20$ is too steep for what they're offering.

TheEnigmaticT: Sadly, when this hits the Android app store, it will have my monies. I am powerless against it.
Alternatively, you could use your GOG copy with GemRB right now. Just be sure to get a version directly from their site, since apparently the version on Play is older and crashes when traps are sprung.

Jaime: My point is, I like a good challenge, I like depth, and I love it when games let me figure out stuff and tackle problems on my own, in unique ways. If someone, at some time, comes up with a RPG engine that's as complex and flexible as the Infinity Engine, then great, but at the moment there's simply nothing else like it.
I don't think that it's any accident that there's a lot of tactical and strategic depth in the Infinity Engine games, since the engine itself was originally written and intended for RTS games.

gyokzoli: Although I also find its price too high but you don't only pay for some additional content only. The have rewritten the UI, now you can even zoom in and out, and added many enhancements. Also that added content is about 18 hours long which is lot.

No, only the interface hasn't aged well and now that's fixed. And honestly, you need to use mods to make the GOG version playable unless you like pain.
There are UI mods and other such things, and frankly the original UI is fine on PC, it was made for the same control method we use today. I don't see the pain you describe, I just played the game again a few months ago and it looked and ran fine with mods, it just wasn't very fun because the game is kinda bland honestly...
