I seen somewhere about Sega having a deal with Nintendo that Sonic will only be on Nintendo consoles, so he'll probably return.
As for Snake, there's still hope. They included Raidan instead of Snake due to snake being smash so you never know...

I say Toon Link will probably be the first to go.

Aw, Lucario was fun to use. I was hoping for LESS clones. Falco or Wolf getting the axe would not be a bad thing if they are not gonna be different. Oh well.

You know the reason they're cutting characters is to try to make the remaining characters as balanced or perfect as possible?

They'll probably keep Falco just because he's an important character in Star Fox. I hope they'll at least make him different this time although people are saying they'll probably add Krystal this time around (maybe replacing Wolf?).

Yeah, my friend will be annoyed, his favourite fighter was Lucario. Mainly for his wall cling ability.

The Wii Fit Trainer wasn't a wasted character slot. I like every move Sakurai makes to make it as non-hardcore as possible. Smash Bros is not meant to be a tournament game. If I want a hardcore fighting game, I'll play a fighting game, not Smash. That, and it was cause massive salt in the Smash community, which is always entertaining. Kind of disappointing the roster is getting some cuts, but the roster has been getting bloated with copycat characters.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Super Smash Bros is one of Nintendo's most popular titles. They used put forth a lot more effort into them, or maybe that's just nostalgia. I have no doubt the game mechanics will be well executed. "We Don't Have Time To Bring All Characters Back", I read as it's too much effort, not enough money and not enough people on the project.

Still, some of the characters weren't that great anyway.

I'd rather have Megaman and Sonic than the more boring Nintendo characters like Ice Climbers or Mr. Game and Watch.

I agree. It is an amazing party game. Extremely chaotic and fun. The "accepted" tournament style is fucking boring. Taking away all the fun of it (hell, item management is a VERY important strategic factor) in the most plain arena. That shit is just dull.

It's to be expected, I mean Roy, Mewtwo and young Link went missing in Brawl, to be replaced by Ike, Lucario (WTF?) and 'toon' Link. I certainly wouldn't miss Diddy Kong...
