Hello everyone, I have a pretty huge backlog and I don't know what to play. Could you give me some advice on what to play first and finish my backlog faster.
Thank you.

Here is my game list:
Age of Empires II: Age of Kings
Age of Empires II: The Conquerors
Command and Conquer: The First decade (all C&C games from 1995 to 2003)
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Fallout 2
Gothic 2
GT Legends
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Hitman: Contracts
Hitman - Blood Money
Impossible Creatures
Just Cause
Need For Speed Underground 2
Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
Racing Simulation 3
Sacred Gold
Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened
Trackmania United Forever
Turok 2: Seeds of evil
Broken Sword
Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror
Doc Clock : The Toasted Sandwich of Time
Earth 2160
Multiwinia
Uplink
Empire Earth Gold Edition
Give Broken Sword and BS II a playthrough. They're each not too long or overly difficult, so at the very least you'll knock two games off your backlog after around 8-10 hours for each game.

Pshaw. That's supposed to be a big backlog? Mine's like ten times that. =P

Word of advice: Don't play the Oddworld games back to back. I did that, and I barely overcame the hurdle of 'almost exact same game' fatigue to beat the second.

Broken Sword 1 and 2 are fairly simple adventure games--they were my introduction to the genre, and I beat them without much trouble--so if you're just trying to shorten the list, those are good games to knock off.

(Broken Sword 1 is also quite good, so I'd recommend it on its own merits. I remember being less sold on Broken Sword 2).

Fallout 2! One of my favorite games of all time.
The fastest way is to play the most fun first so try them all a little. Otherwise, I would go with those that has lowest game length and easiest difficulty.
Play any of the RTS games last as those are usually the games that take the longest to completely exhaust. I've stopped buying them because I just don't have time to finish them to any reasonable degree.

Goes for RPGs as well, but I'm still buying them like crazy :(

Go for some adventure games, that way you're done faster. Play Fallout at the end! :D

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to also have a "backlog" here on GOG? This should be only implemented after the more needed stuff are integrated/improved, but I think it'd be a good idea :D (too lazy to seach if there's already such a thing requested...)
Do DX:IW - it shouldn't take that long, and it's actually not a bad game.

Otherwise, everyone else here has good advice. Do you have GoG Racing Simulator 3 or a boxed one? If boxed, make sure you remove the StarForce protection from your copy (google it) otherwise, it probably won't work under new windows.
Start with the Hitman games, in order, then play Impossible Creatures .
Currently I'm playing AoE Rise of Rome expansion after that I think I go for Broken Sword or DX:IW (will see)

If you have more suggestions you can continue posting.

I have the boxed version, ok I will do that.

May I ask you a question? Why it's so important for you to finish your backlog? I mean games are supposed to entertain you and it seems you are somewhat stressed because of your backlog. Mine is much bigger than yours and I don't really bother. I have ~130 unfinished games and I'm just about to buy 5 more from the current promo. I must admit - I like it when my backlog is dwindling but it's not really important for me.

Just a small example: I think I'll replay Might and Magic 6 soon. I've finished the game several times already but I'm just in the right mood to do it again. I just need to decide on some unusual party. Some time ago I finished MM7 with 4 wizards so now I'm more thinking about 4 knights. Given that it will be more difficult in the second half of the game I'll spend ~100 hours on it. Some people may argue that I should spend it on some other RPG that I haven't finished yet (and I have ~50 of unfinished RPGs) and thus reduce my backlog. But why should I care? I have an urge to play MM6 so I will, despite my backlog.

So that's my advice: forget about your backlog, play those games that will maximize your enjoyment! I'm sure you have enough issues in your life that are stressing you, no point in adding games to that list. Have fun! :)

I agree with Ghorpm. Games are entertainment. If you aren't entertained, your just wasting your money and time. Enjoy the games and enjoy your life. A big backlog means nothing.

I agree with you I shouldn't care too much about my backlog but you know I bought this "bloody good games" and at least I want to beat them once. I stopped buying games a month or so because as I sad I want to finish the games I already have.

Thank you (and benmar) for your worthy advice. You reminded me that I should enjoy games not stress with them.

PS. Sorry for my bad english
