Well I finally got the cash together and just ordered a kick arse top of the line gaming rig. Can anyone beat my e-peen (so to speak)?
CPU: Intel Core i7 930
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
RAM: G.Skill DDR3 6GB Kit
Video: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 480 1536MB
PSU: Zalman ZM750-HP 750W Modular
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium PCIe
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDD
DVD: Pioneer DVR-218L DVDRW
Case: Antec Three Hundred
Keyboard: Saitek Cyborg
Monitor: LG E2340V 23inch Widescreen LED Backlit
I'm thinking of buying Waxworks to comprehensively waste the cutting edge power I've just paid for. It is still the oldest game on GOG isn't it?
Nice rig you got there! :)

Wouldn't that be Might & Magic I? The Dos version was released in around '87 I think.
Goddamn it. Me and my puny little GTX 295...
I will punch anyone I know who owns a DX11 card and i7 processor.
I should actually upgrade my CPU but I don't want to spend loads on a new motherboard, so I'm settling on an older Core 2 Extreme quad core.

To be honest I would of gone with either 8GB or 4GB as that processor is a quad-core and it would benefit addressing an exact amount of memory.
Other than that, nice rig. Hope you'll change that HDD to a SSD soon :D Enjoy it!
So . . . when the lights dim in Sydney . . . we will know Aliasalpha is gaming . . . ; )

It's triple channel, I basically had the option for 6 or 12gb ifI wanted to utilise the channels efficiently and I have a feeling 6gb will suffice

But thats in a pack with the others isn't it? You'd have to average out the years of release

Thats an important point, I've got to get that UPS, the power in this house has always been on the noisy and disrupted side, best to not take chances with the few grand of tech that I have sitting in this room

Well, there's always Personal Nightmare, listed as 1989.
When I got my last PC at the start of 2009, just about all the games I've purchased then played since are rather old. They were playable on the previous one, but now they run very smooth and really FAST! :D

Well, you can heat the house during winter with that graphic card.

Yeah, a UPS is worth every penny, saved me many times. I have been happy with my APC Back-UPS XS 1000 . . . after several years of use I checked out the user rating on Amazon and found out it was apparently a lemon . . never failed me though . . . still using the original batter even . . . =)
Congrats on the new system . . .

Yup, that's the joke that's been going around, isn't it?
Oh wait, it's not a joke.
Yeah here it gets to be sub zero, not sub ABSOLUTE zero
By the way, if you're feeling hungry you could try this on your card.
