Chaos Overlords

An awesome cyberpunk-mafia-area control-boardgamish-strategy-game-thing, with an amazing soundtrack. Would love to see a working version on GOG, or indeed anywhere, some day.
Thief II is certainly worth a spin.

Whiteblade999: E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy is a great place to start.

wolfsite: Eh, I'd be careful with this one, it can get pretty buggy. Some levels you can just fire a pistol and every single enemy on the map you are on will here it and converge on your location.
It is but it's much better now than at release. Most issues are related to network and AI so if you play alone it should work, more or less. I think the developers keep updating it as well.

Also, now you can change the AI detection range settings. You can also lower (or completely remove) (re)spawning enemies, which makes some levels far more manageable when doing it alone.

Does the game feature nudity? :P

Yes, it actually does!

I forgot about that. A reinstall is probably in order. *Writing down my 94856 game on my backlog..*

EDIT: Interesting issue with the forum. The paragraphs were cut as usual but my quote didn't include wolfsite's post.

Erm, the latter has always been the case, or at least for as long as I've been here. Only 2 levels of quotation are sent to the editor. If you want a deeper level, you need to copy the text manually.

Just click "Reply" on any random post that already contains 2 levels of quotation, and you'll see. :)

I tried it now and it shows all three of them. Weird.
Cyberpunk-like:
B.A.T.
B.A.T. 2
BloodNet
Perihelion (Amiga)
Snatcher (Sega CD)

Cyberpunk:
System Shock
System Shock 2
Syndicate
Syndicate Wars
Burn Cycle
Ghost in the Shell (Playstation 1)
E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy
Neuromancer
CyberMage

Steampunk:
Arcanum

Steampunk-like:
World of Aden - Thunderscape (kind of)
Spellcross (don't play this, it sucks)

Yeah, I noticed right after I typed my post that the forum does _not_ actually behave the way I described. And then I edited my post, but the forum refused to take the edit. And then I answered a post in another thread, and that doesn't seem to appear as well.

I retract my previous statement. This forum is a wild beast with a mind of its own, and I won't claim any longer to understand how it works. Probably GOG's web developers don't either. Perhaps they are just occasionally throwing pieces of flesh into the dungeon where it resides, out of fear of being devoured if they'd actually go down and look after the thing.

lowyhong: Get the SNES and Genesis Shadowrun games. Both are really good.
Indeed.

The Genesis one can be bland and the SNES one can be annoying but they're both great and very PC game in style. Why the fuck they were on consoles is beyond me.
Cyberpunk:
Iron Gaia duology - two free RPGmaker games heavily inspired by System Shock
Akira - a NES game based on the famous manga/movie has recently been translated
Bionic Heart - an indie VN available on GG, Desura and author's website
The Cyber Slayer - as cyberpunk as it gets
And let's not forget Sinkha series from awesome Marco Patrito.

Steampunk:
The whole of "What a Beautiful" series, though only two titles have been translated into English
Inganock of the Brightest Flame
Sharnoth of the Deepest Black - in this game you play as Agatha Christie... I kid you not.
