The new AVP is half off on Steam! Is it worth it? And does it come with any sort of heavy DRM besides Steam? Because if I have to be connected to the internet or use TAGES to activate only three times, forget it.

Good enough for me! I LOOOOOOVE Steamworks. Hopefully I can convince myself that this is the only SEGA game I want for a while, because I need to save my money and because I have no interest in either Total War or Sonic. Even Alpha Protocol hasn't caught my eye.

I believe that the Steam version uses only Steam for DRM, and that this is the case with most of the SEGA releases. This includes Steam Cloud support, but I'm not sure to what extent (save games?).
It looks like they will be changing their approach starting with Alpha Protocol, and will be moving away from Steamworks entirely.

Yay! It's just 100% more expensive now than on Amazon instead of 300%!
Since they locked us to Euro instead of dollars, I have barely bought a game on Steam.

I loved the marine campaign in this game, it really felt like an interactive version of the second Alien movie, Aliens.
The rest of it was rather mediocre though.

That actually sounds excellent. The only questions I have that I don't see answered there are "Will Uniloc install software outside the game directory?" and "Will it be uninstalled completely along with the game?"

Is the single-player campaign worth the 25 smackaronies? I doubt I'll get enthralled with the multiplayer much now that I'm playing SC2.

I own it twice thanks to an Alpha Protocol preorder as well. It's like Sega is punishing you for preordering a good game.
