Je suis une baguette?
Unfortunately some banks don't like GOG so they add fees to your purchases.

If you pay with PayPal, there are no fees.

I am sorry that you had this problem. :(

(Google Translate incoming:)
Malheureusement, certaines banques n'aiment pas GOG afin qu'ils ajoutent les frais de vos achats.

Si vous payez avec PayPal, il n'ya aucun frais.

Je suis désolé que vous avez eu ce problème. :(

"hello

I bought several games on GOG last week
and I got the surprise of having the price double on my bank statement.
Surely the bank currency exchange fees.
It would have been good to know in advance.

Maybe that doesn't happen with Paypal?"

My french sucks, but if you're asking if you should use Paypal, then yes, it's the best option.
Unfortunately some banks do charge extra for the transactions, while GoG cant possibly list the banks that do charge it would be nice if there were a bit in the FAQ under payment about the additional charges banks levy.

As others have already said, paypal is easier due to it skipping the checks on transaction fee's, also you dont have to put your bank details in every time you make a purchase.
re

Take care, drop by anytime.
I have been double-charged once through PayPal, although I think I got some kind of error message first and then proceeded re-buying the game without checking if any money had gone through. I contacted support when I noticed, and they fixed things in a few days.
I use a pre-paid Visa card linked through my PayPal. I have yet to have a single issue. I'm not sure if they have this option in Europe, but I've found it works pretty well for me.
i'm a bit in the same position as the OP;

I have a question for those using Paypal :

How you escape the exchange range between currencies + the extra fees taking by Paypal ? (unless i missed something)

i speak of for those their local currency isn't in dollars

Paypal does charge an exchange fee, but they do it by using a rate which is a tiny bit worse than the actual current rate. I think it adds about 20p onto a $6 GOG for me. Either way, they'll show you the converted price before you click the final "pay" button and that price includes their fee so there shouldn't be any bad surprises.
J'ai acheter? Really? REALLY? And you bothered to put the accent on dernière? Tsk tsk tsk.....

so it's only interesting IF the amount is under what taken a bank when there're a currency exchange :

ie ; my bank takes a minimun 1 euro in this case (it's calculed in fonction the amount of money to exchange , so sometimes it's a bit more, but always 1 euro even for small amout).

Precisely.

In my case, my bank takes £1.25 per transaction regardless of how much the transaction is. Paypal charges proportionately to the amount of money since they do it as part of the conversion itself. In most instances paypal is cheaper, but for something more expensive I'd compare paypal's conversion to the real rate and if the difference is more than £1.25 then my bank is actually the better option. So far though Paypal has always worked out cheaper for me.
