Ois: I don't think it will quite work for the next 'Come and visit Australia!' tourism promotion.

michaelleung: Their current one sucks anyway, it can't possibly get any worse.

You do realise this country will take that as a challenge...

There's a Chaser segment/clip that did that. Not sure about linking it here, but you should know the one I mean

I was trying to get to sleep around 5AM when I looked up and saw the strange colour in the sky. I got up and went to look around, only to hear a strange sound from the roof. Turned out the damn wind tore off our foxtel dish. I'm just glad that there's relatively few threats to our house now from trees. We've had a few branch-related incidents over the years, including an old clothesline being flattened and powerlines being crossed.

And nothing worth watching on foxtel (unless they've changed a lot in the last few years)

Not really, I'd say its getting worse unless you're a big sports fan. You do get the occasional program that has yet to screen here or legally online, or come on region4 DVDs.
But most is rather poor quality nowadays and endless repeats. Even the documentary channels have been really dumbed down now.

True, it's pretty much solely watched by my old dad. I only watched it for Robot Wars and the Sci-fi marathons, and I actually haven't watched it in years. What really pissed me off was the fact that when we first got it, there were no commercials (it was a bloody selling point!). Now it's about as bad as free-to-air.

Yeah I dropped it because with a combination of the ads and the fact the only show I watched was conan (and sometimes perving on the cute chicks on the shopping channel), the 80 odd bucks a month was stupid spending. Way better to spend it on DVDs
