For me it's simple.
I paid for a full price movie ticket. I should be entitled to watch the whole thing without any censorship, not 95% of the movie.
Similarly, I paid for a full price game. I want the whole thing, no gore and no violence should imply a lower priced game.

being from germany i can say that you guys in australia still have it better than us. because your system at least makes sort of sense (refusing age 15 classification to such violent games). all you guys need is a proper 18 rating (im convinced that will happen sooner than later). here in germany we DO have an 18 rating but those that are classified as 18 are STILL censored down to your age 15 rating (because otherwise they would have to be hidden beneath counter and couldnt be openly advertised). that is even worse, and there is NO WAY that that will change any time soon. we have just got used to importing either from UK or Austria.
why dont you just cross the border to germany, there is one every year as far as im aware of
