JudasIscariot: Fallout for me was like having someone cook a meal that Mom used to make. Only Mom died and someone else tried to cook it just the way she did and it didn't taste right....

If I had to choose between someones interpretation of my mothers food, or go hungry, I know which I would choose..

arcanum...
i don't wanna another oblivion like world.
eh. betha. maybe they will try a new approach but seeing how their open world-nothing there approach makes them tons of monies i really doubt it.
I look forward to Planescape: Torment 2, the first-person hack-and-slasher with minimalistic dialogue and fart jokes.
Bethesda. Bethesda never changes.

...and took "pouring Mom's heart into it" a bit too literally.
I would love a new Arcanum... even with Bathesda conception of RPG.
I hope that they can keep far, far, far away from the entire Ultima series of games, I would be so crushed if they messed up.
Although, Lord British does say he'd be interested in going back to his roots, that would be much better.

Yeah but garriot has a bit of a stiffy for MMOs so any new ultima would be likely be an MMO. Call me mad but going to new magincia & monster grinding in the name of humility is not really my idea of ultima
Well seeing as how Ultima Online is still being run by EA, and they've canceled multiple sequel projects, the idea of a new Ultima MMO seems pretty far fetched.

Ultima Online wasn't very good. Also, don't expect any game action from Lord British yet, since he's decided to stop for a while after going up to space. I wonder what he saw up there...?

Don't you hate complex games in general or something? Ultima Online was really cool when it first came out. It was basically the first MMORPG. Then Everquest came out with it's grindfest gameplay, followed by an endless stream of derivatives which continue even today.

Nope. Just hate Ultima Online.
My experience with Ultima Online was very good, until a few things happened,
1. they let people build houses
2. (related to 1) it got very laggy
3. I started to have a lot of gold
4. I died in a lag-fest battle and lost all my stuff
5. I lost my free internet connection.
I went to Anarchy Online after that, but the experience was buggy as hell, so I stopped with MMOs, and don't think I'd ever go back.
Although I reckon you could get away with doing a full-on Ultima reboot, starting from square one, just fleshing out the characters and settings for the earlier ones.

Oh well, guess I was thinking of someone else.
Ultima Online was nice, but i played on a RP freeshard, so it was most likely completely different from what you got when playing on the official servers..but still, it was good for making that possible.
About Bethesda.. it doesn't really matter what they touch, as it will get the same treating as Fallout..as every game they made since Morrowind (perhaps even since ever, didn't play the first two. And yes, Morrowind was better then Oblivion, but still, when looking back, you could have seen it coming).
So if they make it good, it doesn't matter what they revive, and if they make it bad, it doesn't matter too.#
