Also sending a message to GOG Support for this, but sometimes posting here seems to be the quicker route.

Ok, so I was googling for info on a game I'd heard about but somehow missed on its initial release & it led me to a site listing The Witcher as a free download. Upon investigation, it seems all their games are "free" to download, but they charge you a fee to become a "member" for x-amount of days to (seemingly) download all you want from their catalog. There are a number of GOG games there, although I have no way of knowing if they are GOG versions or simply games that GOG also carries. But The Witcher was definitely one of them, and I know GOG flat-out owns that one.

Now, rather than do something dopey like posting the link here in a public forum, I'm sending the link to you (GOG) separately after I finish this post. And hey, for all I know, maybe...just *maybe*...the site is legit & has its own agreement with the IP owners. It could be, stranger things have happened. Regardless, its up to GOG to look at it & tell us for certain.
Sounds fishy to me that's for sure.
I don't believe that's legit, no. We'll look into it.
How did I know the always-awesome "T" would be the first staff member to reply? ;-)

Seriously, the site reminded me of those old P2P sites that would offer to sell you a copy of Napster or Kazaa...which were already freeware...to get at all the pirated mp3s & stuff.
You're not talking about Metaboli are you? They're a legitimate site that just charges a monthly fee for unlimited access to their game catalogue, pretty sure they have The Witcher on there, along with a whole heap of games that are on GoG.

No, this was a different website. But if GOG/CDProjekt didn't authorize The Witcher to be...sold/utilized(?)....in that fashion, I wanted to let them know.

Now I wanna go check out Metaboli.... :p

That's so perversely ironic...
It's making people who want to have paid stuff for free, pay for stuff that IS free.
