OmegaX: The expansion has been officially released on Steam and GG so you should definitely contact support because all X Superbox owners should have it by now.
Who suggested that only "true fans" would get it? That person is an asshole. It's impossible that Egosoft would do something that stupid.
Not yet. Steam is asleep. I've not yet gotten it as well so do a moderate number of people. This is the reply from Egosoft to one of my posts about Steam sucking:

"No, it's because it's been the middle of the night where they are! Really, we will get back onto the problem with them as soon as their working day starts."

Yeah, they're some fans that bought the games right from the start when Egosoft started making games, X:BTF and every single game forward till X3: TC but might not get the Superbox since they have all the games already and they're not entited to the free X3:AP because they do not have Superbox and hence they're pissed. I would be too if I were in their shoes especially after being so loyal. But one can easily get Superbox from GG like few days back for $10.

So, Steam's entire account DB is on manual control? Does a very fast illegal immigrant run to put a game in my account after getting a printed receipt of my payment? Is that what happens when Steam is processing card info?

They probably meant that they have to wait until Steam employees are working to diagnose what the problem is. Steam has problems like this once in a while. In my case, they've always fixed it with a day or so.
Steam was down for about 6 hours yesterday, so this was their top priority yesterday. Give them another day and i'm sure it will show up in your Steam account.

Petrell: Aww, another game series going shitworks only (and just when I bought the superbox from GG). Oh well, if they don't want my money, they can shove the game where sun does not shine.
I've heard if you apply official patches to the games you can actually remove the steam requirement. I'm guessing it's only free for steam people right now as steam makes it easier to add games for people and see what games people have already purchased.

Aliasalpha: Damn didn't get it!

Interesting... must try this.
Looks like you get the new expansion also if you are just now buying the X Superbox for the first time. http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-XSBUS/x-superbox-bundle

It includes:

X - Beyond the Frontier (version 2.2)
X - Tension (version 2.2)
X2 - The Threat (version 1.5)
X3 : Reunion (Bala Gi's Research missions)
X3 : Terran Conflict (Balance of Power)
X3 : Albion Prelude

I usually gloss over the GG threads since I get my games here, so I have a question that A) I can't find on the GG FAQ, and B) has probably been answered here a bajillion times already:

Is it like GOG, in that I can download the installer as often as I need? If so, I may just have to jump on this. Been meaning to for quite a while now...

Like every Superbox version you can activate it via the box-key on steam, also the gamersgate version. From the gamepage: Note: If you already own X Superbox and redeem the game on Steam you will get the X3: Albion Prelude Expansion Pack for Free.

There is no download-limit on gamersgate, only an activation limit for some drm-games, but as far as I heard you can contact gamersgate to rearctivate used keys.

Exactly. From the GamersGate FAQ:

How many times can I download and/or install my games?

Any game bought on GamersGate is yours to download and install as many times you like. Some games are protected with an activation limit, but that limit is easily reset with an email to support@gamersgate.com

I just activated my GG key on Steam and it contained all games, including Albion Prelude.

What is kinda weird is that I got in my GG library two products, one the X - Superbox which I activated on Steam and it contained all games, and another X - Superbox with only X3 - Terran Conflict, no steam key just the download/gift links. Is this normal ? Cause if it is I'm think I could gift someone else the X3 - TC.

There should be three download links: The superbox (with key), the TC and the bonus disc.

Edit: The retail box comes with 3 dvds, that's why gg has three download links.

Yes, it's normal. And if the games appear separately in the gifting dialogue (i.e. each with its own checkbox), then you should be able to gift them individually.

I've seen games that were sold as bundles of a PC and a Mac version, and the Mac version could be gifted separately even after the PC version had been downloaded and activated.

Hoo boy, do I feel stupid. I missed the little "more" button that opened up the rest of the FAQ sections. Thanks!
I am still waiting for it to be added to my account :(
