I think what he's trying to say is that while they are held in high regard, it's hyperbole to say that they're deified.

What are you talking about? I'm not giving a morality lesson, I just don't agree with your assertion and I'm asking for examples to clarify. You're the one who is on the morality high horse with your talking about how these guys are douchebags and " not fit to polish a hobo's boot".

So....who are these low life douchebags that are getting deified? Do you have any examples or not?

Playing what game ? The responding to your question game? Is google going to tell me what athletes you think are douchebags that are being deified so I can answer the question? So far google has just told me about Jeremy Lynn, and if you don't know why people made a big deal out of him , I don't know what to tell you. It was a cool story about an underdog making it big , not some douchebag unfit to polish a hobo's shoe.

Are all athletes great people? Nope. Are they all complete jizzbags? Nope. Should they be held up as role models? Not all of them. Pretty much like most other segments of society that you might want to name.
