It's this time of the week when everyone is happy for at least two reasons: it's Friday so the weekend begins and GOG is having another bargain deal on classic games! This weekend, until Monday, March 21 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, we're offering you an up to 50% off discount on selected titles from Atari's huge catalogue. How about grabbing One Unit Whole Blood, Blood 2: The Chosen, Independence War, Independence War 2 and Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, all for half the price! Buy all games or complete the promo pack and you'll get 50% off. If you want to buy only selected games from the offering, you'll still get a 25% discount. Check the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/atari_games]promo page for all details.

stevef: anyone have any experience playing any of these sale items on W7? how about the file size on some of these -- 1GB+ -- how do they move on a netbook?
I bought the entire Atari catalogue back in 2010 when it was on sale

tried many games and havent had any problems with them so far on W7

Blood works perfectly. As for the netbook I wouldn't recommend playing any DOSbox game with less than 1GB RAM especially considering netbooks have what can only be described as "IOU 1 GPU" where the graphics card should be.

It should be noted that Blood 2 doesn't work properly. That's not a Windows 7 thing. It never did.

Meh... I may get the Independence Wars games, but I'm not really interested in Blood or Alone in the Dark.
Is alone in the dark worth purchasing?
I'm disappointed too. From those, I'm only interested in I-War 1, but at 25% off, that's a no deal.

In fact, now that I look at it, not counting christmas sales, I've only bought 1 GOG for me and 1 gift this year. Sigh.

*I know it's also a matter of luck, though. Sales this year just didn't suit my tastes, but I know others have benefited from them.
Oh man it's one of those messed up up to sales, I didn't even notice that.
For shame GOG, for shame!
own them all. :( ... did they have this sale already?
Already have I-War2 on disk, but bought it anyway juuust in case a CD dies and it gets yanked from the catalog like a few other titles in the past.

Thanks for the sale, GOG!

I'm thinking the same. I want both the I-War games but I think I can wait for a better deal.

Including Blood2?. Don´t think so...

zebber: Hmm, I was rather hoping this style of promo had gone away, what with the style of the last few, and those flash one day promos.
Yeah, same here. As a consumer I don' think these sorts of deals are in my favor.
okay, thanks. i've got exactly 1 GB RAM and an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver -- Blood is a 289 MB file -- think it'll run? (W7)

Blood 1 is a DOS game run through DOSBox. It'll run, but you may need to run it at a really low in-game resolution 320x200 or 320x400, if your CPU is slow enough.

Your graphics card should not make a difference since the CPU will be doing all the work.

(Intel Atom CPUN450) ok, i'll give it a shot. also, i've been spoon-fed w/ downloads to this point, for the most part buying from sites that provide installation link w/ download (game manager, install wizard, etc). does gog facilitate install w/ download or is it diy?
