I'm a little concerned about the BG3 due the the story being completed - and also not wanting it to be a hack and slash dark alliance style.
This amused me though "Reviving classic RPGs seems to be all the rage these days. With Fallout, Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights all getting resuscitated, are there any other titles you'd like to see re-made? "
Since when as the Neverwinter Nights series been needing resuscitation as the NWN2 expansion has just been released?

If fallout is anything to go by, I'm very very very afraid of BG3...

Not to mention the MoW expansion still on the way! (though here's hoping the developers don't die of starvation before Atari actually release it...)
The NWN2 engine still has plenty of mileage left... I wouldn't mind seeing a totally new story arc (does the new expansion related to the original campaign?), but I'm not ready for NWN3.

LOL if they make BG3 first person hack and slash ala Oblivion I'm going to jump off a bridge

Easily impressionable, aren't you? :-P
Agree with the fallout despair, I'm sure Fallout 3 is selling well, and many people enjoy it, but I now feel I will never see a new Fallout game that would be faithful to the originals.
Although something similar hasn't happened specifically to Baldur's Gate (yet?), the way RPGs are moving at the moment doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, but there are a few titles on the way which might change my opinion (e.g. Dragon Age).
I live in hope!
I hope BioWare will make these games.

Impressionable how? Because I stated an opinion on how I don't want something to turn out?
Anyway, to clarify my comment, BG is great due to the group based combat plus story, not sure how that would be pulled off in first person. I wasn't a huge fan of Oblivion, like Morrowind, I do also like Fallouts (all three), but for this I think first person would not be good.
bioware is last defence line of real RPG games after what bethesda did with F3 (quite a good game, but not a good fallout game). From those three I prefer BG series (actualy, all infinity engine games), NWN was good too, but are second to BG. Fallout is now dead for me, as bethesda is.

Let us not forget CD Projeckt Red ;)

I will have to disagree on that. In the past BioWare was really the best developer of RPG games, but now...? Somehow I don't want the RPG genre to be defined by pseudo-rpg like Mass Effect, where a gamer's dexterity and proficiency in using the mouse is more important than character development. Apart from that - a story that lasts 20 hours? COME ON! BioWare has moved from making RPG to creating different sorts of action-adventure-fps hybrids with SOME elements of role playing games.
Can't wait to see BG3! Hopefully it'll be a nice revamp of the old play.
I'm glad that Bioware is going back to its roots with DA. But who will develop BG3? Isn't Bioware busy with DA and The Old Republic?
Bioware is also a subsidiary of EA, so it's not very likely it will develop BG3 for Atari.
But BioWare is developing The Old Republic for Lucas Arts. It can develop BG3 for Atari too I think.
