Ahh, bad news guys. It appears that as Atari (Infogrammes) was purchasing the remnants of MicroProse from Hasbro, Sid Meier jumped in and grabbed some old gems to remake, such as Pirates!, Civilization (of course), Railroads!, X-Com (and sequels), and likely Master of Magic, since it bears a more than passing resemblance to Civ. Since Master of Orion/Master of Orion II was developed by Simtex, Sid possibly wasn't able to get those, which is why we have a possibility of seeing those.
X-Com is currently in development at Firaxis - Turn based, First person shooter elsewhere.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

They've already announced that MoM will be one of the games released here on GOG, which I doubt they would have done if they didn't have access to it...

My mistake. A little fact checking reveals that MoM was made by SimTex after all.

fisk0: I hope this means we'll see some Ocean games here. such as Epic, Inferno and F29 Retaliator.
I also hope they will release the classic Call of Chtulhu adventure games from the mid 90's, Call of Chtulhu: Shadow of the Comet and Call of Chtulhu: Prisoner of Ice.

Hey, didn't Ocean make a soccer/radio controlled car type sports game. What was that called?
Hmm, according to this, they released Contra/Gryzor. The logo seems the same - is it the same company?

davstern: I would really love to to see on GOG, ancient D&D games, such as Beholder series (which I used to play) or Dark Sun (which I never played before). Does anyone know who own rights to SSI (Strategic Simulations Inc.)games ? Is it Ubisoft now? I am just thinking what is the chance of seeing these games (or gems) on GOG...

chautemoc: Pretty sure Ubisoft yes. If they haven't been released by now I'm guessing they wont be. =/
Well, at least not til GOG gets more popular and more people buy Ubisoft games.

Ubisoft. I am not sure if we can expect any good from these damn frog-eaters. Hopefully they will go bankrupt and someone more reasonable buy rights to their games :-p

dudalb: It bears repeating that Atari is having some legal problems with the owners of the D and D rights, so don't epect any of the D and D based games on GOG soon.

At least GOG could publish Temple of Elemental Evil, this game was published by Atari. Hopefully Hasbro (or whoever claims rights to D&D titles) won't go mad about it. I still hope to see ToEE on GOG, even if Kilrathi say 'hope is mother of stupid'.

I wonder if this means Dragonshard will be comming. Not a complete old game but it sure was one of my favorite RTS's ever made, too bad atari dropped the ball on supporting it :(
Hmm, all right, its the first Tuesday of April. Doesn't look like we're getting any Atari games yet, does it....

chautemoc: Tuesday.

It seems you were a bit optimistic.
Well, GOG did state from the beginning that the current "Spring Sale" would last until midnight tonight, so it shouldn't be really surprising that they didn't want to trample on that with a new release. As I said in the whining thread, I'm sure they will make up for it on Thursday.

I betrayed youu
OMG!
O-U-T-C-A-S-T!!!!!!!
Can't wait to get my hands on this one! A already own two versions of this game (CD and DVD) and both have massive issues working under XP.
Finally! Cutter Slade is back!
All right, if we don't get an Atari game by the end of the day, I think we can safely say something went wrong with the deal.

Well seeing as they released Syberia2 today, I would deffinately say something is wrong. I can't imagine them releasing any other new games today Atari or not.
So much for the atari games :(
The GOG employees' workday is over by now. No Atari games.

"SSI was acquired by Mindscape in 1994, spent time as part of Mattel, and finally became part of Ubisoft (in March 2001), which has since retired the brand name."
