Well Interplay have re-released boxed copies of it recently. Despite not having the D&D license and denying all knowledge of the re-release's existence...

Also as far as I've understood ATARI currently holds exlusive license to all D&D based computer games including at least Baldur's gate and Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment (they've rereleased all of them). It may also mean old SSI gold box (and any other D&D based) games fall under their license. Obviously if they lose the license, they'll all fall into Hasbro's hands.

Yeah, that one. The article pretty much sums up Atari's luck of late. Talk about having a rough time of it.

I've got a copy of that and apparently Interplay released it. Very dodgy that one.

But of course I hope for Torment too. On my 18th birthday I chose between BG+TotSC or Torment and picked the former, which is a pity because Torment is more my kind of game.

Don't you think it's more likely ATARI UK is the rereleaser considering ATARI did release the games earlier. Also ATARI has been planning Baldur's Gate III for few years now (the development was supposed to start 2009 I think but then the recession came and now Hasbro has sued them over the D&D license)

I hope we get a few of the older atari games, not just ones from 2002+.
A few of the old Microprose, Ocean, Infrogrames ones etc.
No idea who has the licenses these days to things like Shanara, EF200, Grand Prix 4, Imperium Galactica, Wheel of Time, Dark earth, etc..
It's a nightmare trying to work out who owns IPs, as some of the games that would seem to have been bought, abstractly, by Atari are already on here.

Quite a surprise to me. I cannot wait till I can get my hands on Master of Magic again.

The other games have been re-released at the same time, yes. But Planescape was one that Atari never has sold. They never bought the rights to it from Interplay and there's some speculation as to whether or not that's because Hasbro don't want games sold with such an old rule set.
So, effectively neither publisher has the right to sell the game. Interplay don't have the D&D license. Atari don't have the copyright to Torment.
But it's Interplay's logo on the box. The fact that it was re-released the same time as the ones Atari does now own would suggest some kind of a deal going on. But with Interplay denying all knowledge and their logo and copyright info on the box it's hard to say exactly what is going on. I doubt that Hasbro would approve. Which could be a part of the reason Atari is on the receiving end of a lawsuit.
Given that we've got Rebellion and Atari here now, what about the Jaguar version of AvP?

They already announced Master of Orion and Master of Magic, so old Microprose titles are in. I hope they have the rights to the Falcon-series and the Grand Prix-series. I'm craving for an updated Grand Prix 2 without the speed issues...

How can you be so sure? Considering ATARI already rereleased BG and IWD series back in 2006 and PS:T was rereleased by CD Projekt in polland under licence from ATARI in summer 2009. ATARI has also been informed about the rerelease so I'd think they'd have jumped Interplay and ordered pulling of the rerelease from stores by now.
But who knows? I do admit the rerelease seem bit weird. The photos of the rereleases don't seem to feature ATARI logo while both the earlier rereleases and the polish PS:T rerelease do. ATARI's silence can be atributed to their ongoing legal battle with Hasbro over the D&D license.
