So it seems, at least by looking at certain warez websites where it is already available a supposedly cracked copy of the worst DRM-crippled PC game of history.
I'm not willing to post the link here for obvious reasons, but I'd like the have the confirmation of the fact that I can loudly say to the Ubisoft freaks: "you are a bunch of moronic assholes and here's why". The aforementioned site is loaded with many pirated software, and they are all working for what I can judge by myself.
Furthermore, the supposedly cracked game is in Russian and I don't want to download 5,39 Gigabytes of data only to not be able to understand a word of it....
They never learn, do they?
The inevitable has happened.
there's no crack for AC II yet
Yon Is Ny Yu (sorry for anyone from Russia spelled that as it sounds to try and be funny however eh...) when it will make its way to English translation but since a crack pretty much will work on all versions id imagine

If it's not cracked yet, it will be within a week. And what's more, pirates will have the advantage of being able to play offline :-) So much for customer care...
I'm worried of one thing though. Not only Ubisoft won't be able to get what happened. They will turn this around and show AC2 as an example of how horrible PC and pirates are :-/ (blame everyone else first, right?).
I don't even wanna guess how many people will pirate it just to be able to play whenever and wherever they want. People who would otherwise be proper customers
It is confirmed:

Can't wait for Ubisoft's response, they will be beyond pissed.
...and after that, use it as an excuse to bash PC gaming and "unthankful" PC gamers :(
Many games in the eastern European countries use a different DRM/copy protection method than those in the west for the same game. If I recall correctly, this was true for MEPC, for one example. So if this crack is legitimate, it may not mean anything in the long run with regards to Ubi's DRM system, since the game in Russia may not even be using it.

Except it's a (relative) piece of cake to make a crack for the European version by swapping out files between the two. They only need to combine the two and make them available online and who will care if the actual retail version can't be directly cracked? They used to crack games using the exe's from demos.
low rated
Ok, all things considered, here's the link to the supposedly cracked game.
*link removed*
If the GOG mods think it's inappropriate, they can remove it. I'm posting it for truth's sake. And to piss off Ubisoft, obviously. Worst-game-company-ever. Please go out of business asap.

Both of those methods cause problems. If I recall correctly, the original Assassin's Creed actually had many "DRM problems" because crackers used this technique (crack the Russian version, use English files).

Look, why don't you go ahead and remove the link yourself ? The mods aren't always around and having that link up doesn't do anybody any good.
I get why you posted it, but it's still a no-no. The truth is important but we'll have plenty of confirmation soon enough, no need to go down this road.

Rule of thumb: If you think something is against the rules, it is.
Ok ok, removed the link :-P
Just a personal note: this will surprise even myself, but I have NO INTEREST AT ALL in wasting my bandwidth on this game. You made the miracle, Ubisoft, you even disgusted a genuine "pirate" with your "DRM scheme"....
