Actually, the original Assassin's Creed had problems because the so called release was review code and not the full game - you couldn't even apply a patch to the game because the versions were different and the patch wouldn't recognise the game. The game would crash from a certain point onwards. Same thing happened to The Thing whose release actually only contained the first few levels and then, later on, it was a huge buggy mess. Ubisoft were outraged when the original AC1 was leaked in beta form because it spread the false rumour that the game was buggy and would crash at a certain point.

There is no crack anyway.

Then I guess the game that sold in Europe was probably this leaked Beta because the Assassin Creed I bought was buggy as hell and crashed very often as soon as you started the "horse" sections... actually it's one of the reason why I never finished the game.

Well it's up on a certain website I use sometimes. Still won't download it for the game though, I might do it just to piss on Ubisoft but right now Bad Company 2 just got released and I'm getting that on Steam so my bandwidth is being used on something actually good.

To whoever told me that ACII wouldn't be cracked before release in some other thread, who has the last laugh now?

If true then I must say I'm rather disappointed. As slim a chance as it was, I was hoping that it would end up taking several months for a crack to be developed, so that when the game failed to sell well Ubisoft wouldn't have piracy to blame (although they'd probably just go with some other excuse rather than facing up to their own mistake).

I may pirate this. I was planning on doing it to all of the Ubi games with the new 'anti'-DRM. I'm really surprised they stuck to their guns and actually released it with a game after the public shitstorm it caused, but I can't say I respect that.
Unfortunately my HD space is running out.

Looked on TPB, Ass Creed 2 PC is actually in Russian. BOO HOO.

I'm surprised that there are some people that had no faith that people would bother to try to crack this game. Especially since this DRM has made UBI-Soft infamous and it's a popular a game that people will want to play offline.
The fact somebody cracked this so fast only shows how pathetic this DRM is and how much of a waste of money they spent. Why bother paying for something that forces you online constantly when you can download it anytime and play offline forever. Maybe in 5 or 10 years when I'm interested in this game, I will download the hack one day but not now. I will let UBI-Soft wallow in failure.

So this is really cracked? For all versions, not just the russian one? Because usually like someone already said, russian/eastern european versions of games have a different DRM scheme than the other regions. I myself have no interest in this game, I dont care for the AC games.
