one of my classes is going to Obsidian's (Kotor 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout:NV, Alpha Protocol) offices and hanging out with the dev team. my professor says they want us to ask so many questions they have to kick us out to go back to work.

if you guys have any burning queries for the guys from Obsidian, let me know in this thread. if i get an answer i'll post it after Thursday's visit.

EDIT: I should also specify in accordance with the NDA I signed that I might not be able to talk about some stuff.

Dear Chris Avellone: Why are you such a tease?
I would like to know how KOTOR 2 was supposed to finish.

This.
"How do you guys manage to break every game engine you touch?"

*whistles innocently*
In all honesty, could you please just ask them why they (and formerly known as Black Isle/Interplay) have never been able to code games worth a shit to save their life dating back to Fallout 2?
When are you getting a QA team?

drmlessgames: They don't focus on the tech, only on the games.
What's the difference between the two?

Only the very biggest and well funded studios like Valve (Ha! nearly said BioWare before I remembered DA2) have the luxury of making sure everything is perfect. All too often a game ends up buggy and ugly despite being a fantastic game simply because all they had time for was the story. Fallout 2 and Gothic are prime examples.
What is apathy?

What's Mr. Thorton's first name?

Ain't that a kick in the head?
If they could make a game based on any one IP (assuming cost & permission weren't obstacles) whether literary, gaming or film/tv what would it be?

Was it really metacritic scores that causes sega to abandon alpha protocol? That seems insane given how fast it happened, it was out for like 2 weeks beore we heard it was considered a dead end

I was amazed how quickly the price got slashed. It was the second week of June at most when I picked it up for £15.
Quick, ask them what happens to Revan after KotOR. Quick, before the novel comes out! :-)
