Good find :)

As for thank me/kill me part, I think that after listening to Van Canto's take on 'Master of Puppets' I can survive any genre permutations :P

Van Canto's takes on 'Master of Puppets', 'Fear of the Dark' and 'Wishmaster' are what got me into their music!

EDIT: This post needs more 'riddily diddily'.

That's exactly how it happened for me; I think it was Damnation that linked me to one of their songs, and my first instinct was, "what the Hell is this crap?". A couple of weeks later, I bought all their albums.

So true. oh so true.
That is one hell of a crappy mixer :P
I've been a diehard metalhead most of my life...even sang my share of Megadeth/Metallica in a band. I own everything from Crisis to Veil of Maya and everything in between. I'm also a jazz fan (guys like Phil Woods, Woody Herman, Dave Brubeck...swing and bebop, mostly). Sooo...please be gentle with me when I tell you that I actually OWN this album (Pat Boone - In a Metal Mood) and some of it (SOME:) is pretty good! I really like his version of Panama, for example. (Enter Sandman has a great sax section on it, too)

Of course, videos are a whole 'nother layer of cheese, but there's some solid arranging and musicianship on that disc...if you can just ignore the vocals and get past the fact that it's...Pat Boone...XD

Amazon should have 30 second snippets to listen to. :)

Well..yeah...lol
Pat Boone used to be Ozzy Osbourne's next door neighbour.

Perhaps we can credit Ozzy & fam for inspiring this, ummm.....gem?
