CONTEST CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED

As you may/may not be aware, I've been operating a fantasy RPG GOG giveaway game here on the forums. You can see an example here.

The long and short of it is, I have a blog for the game here. Unfortunately, the blog is just plain boring looking at the moment. So I'm hoping some of the more artistic talents on the forum can help spice Adventures in Vue up a bit with some original artwork.
Rules.

1. Must be your own ORIGINAL artwork
2. You must be alright with me actually USING IT for the blog, whether you win or not.
3. If possible, sign it with your user name in here on GOG in a discreet corner with small letters, so I know it's ORIGINAL.
4. There are 3 categories. A GOG winner will be chosen from each.
5. You can put up as many submissions as you like. It's possible to win all 3 categories, and thus all 3 GOGs.
6. Determining winners: each artwork that I choose to actually USE for the blog earns you 1 raffle ticket in the drawing for that category. E.g., if you submit 1 drawing from each category, and I decide to use all 3, then you have 1 raffle ticket (out of ???) for EACH category.

Category 1. Winner gets a 5.99 GOG
.

Options:
1. Adventures in Vue Logo: a logo for the front page. (Don't sign these.)
2. A game map (similar to the one attached: must have boxes or grids for delineation, can be inside a place or outside. If outside, with environmental features (lakes, forests, mountains, hills, deserts, etc.). Also, any cool looking features you would like to add. Primary purpose is functionality, though, so should be able to see the difference between the boxes/grids.

You can submit as many as you'd like of any of those options.

Category 2. Winner gets a 9.99 GOG.

Options: the various character classes (however you envision them based upon their names). For now, they are all human. They can be either male OR female.

1. Warrior
2. Rogue
3. Mage
4. Ranger
5. Berserker
6. Knight
7. Assassin
8. Spy
9. Trickster (makes bombs, traps, etc.)
10. Shaman (a tribal mage controlling the elements, divination, etc.)
11. Sage (a wise mage controlling illusion, enchantment and potion making)
12. Cleric (priest class)

You can submit as many as you'd like of any of those options.

Category 3: winner gets a 9.99 GOG

1. Picture for the store: a store with fantasy goods visible (swords, bows, magical scrolls, etc.)

Picture of a character from these races:
2. Nogfolk

Reside: Forest villages.
Attitude: Friendly, Nervous, Devoted, Peaceful.
Appearance: Gray skin, hair in random places throughout their face (rather ugly), approx. 36-48'' inches tall.
About: Possess magical powers of restoration.

3. Gobblers

Reside: High places (Hills, Mountains)
Attitude: Temperamental, Whimsical, Grumpy, Poetic.
Appearance: Green skin, approx. 30-36'' inches tall, elongated arms.
About: Would be household pets, but a bit too dangerous.

You can submit as many as you like of each of these options.
_________________________________________________________________________

I will leave the contest open indefinitely, until there's a reasonable number of submissions. If there are any questions, ask.

Thanks for participating, and thanks for your help in making AiV a more interesting giveaway game itself!

I'm not much of an artist, but I'm interested in drawing stuff for fun in a (not too serious) contest.

Cool. Anyone else? Hoping for at least 5 participants. Of course, the more participants, the more GOG prizes.
I suck at making artwork, but at least I could try...

Cool.

Surprised there aren't more artists here, would seem like a very artistic community. Maybe there's just a lot of words-only people like me out there.

Anyone else?

Is it alright if we draw anime characters? I'm pretty good at drawing anime/manga characters from different series, I'm just not very good at coming up with my own characters. If it absolutely must be original artwork, I can try to come up with something.

Sorry, it's gotta be original.

I have some specifics, that's why it has to be original.

I'll release the details if we can get enough people on board for the contest.

Just thought I would ask. I'm still willing to give it a shot so count me in.

EDIT : Does it have to be in color? I always draw using a just a regular pencil.

I can draw a passable stick figure, so if that's what you're looking for then I've got you covered!
Removed by Stuff, post was not on topic . . . =)

Stuff: Well, I'm not much for entering contests but you might take a page from GOG's contest book just to make it interesting.

Newer members may not have seen the entries but GOG had a contest where you recreated a screenshot based on a screenshot on their game cards. You could broaden the scope by allowing any screenshot from any game.

I couldn't find a link to the contest winners so I will post my entries which I did in Photoshop (not winners BTW). There were some awesome entries which were far more original than my entries. Any media could be used to create the screenshots, some paper cutouts, some hand drawn, etc etc . . . =)

I will try to find a link to the contest winners but . . . it's been a while . . .
I could do that, but I have a purpose in mind, so I can't. :)

Sure, you could do it in pencil.

I could do that. I've been known to dabble some lines on the paper.

Great!

I think I'll go ahead with it then. We've got a few people at least.
Ok, I posted the rules! Hopefully we'll have enough submissions to make it worthwhile. I'm not declaring an end date b/c I don't know how long it will take to get enough entries.

Won't award a GOG unless there are at least 3 "reasonable" entries from every category.
About the classes and such, are these to be mainly human? It's starting to be my sleepy time (I stayed up in hopes of seeing the competition) so I've yet to read all the linked stuff. How about the genders, is this one of those no-girls-allowed settings? (I can't draw women (they end up looking like Schwarzenegger) but it's worth asking)

I like the idea quite a bit, I'll try and draw something, but now I'm off to dreamland to hopefully ride a rainbow walrus..
