Meh, don't worry about Argentina. If they keep giving it the large about the Falklands we're going to level that place to the ground soon anyway.
Some day they'll realise that in most U-Boot simulations, you don't exactly torpedo nazis. Also, very few galleons that you meet in Pirate games try to board you first...

Not to mention basically all historical grand strategy games...

ShadowWulfe: I'm kind of surprised that more of Central/South America has not been up in arms about the game. Doesn't mean that I won't buy it when it goes on discount though.
I am not, it is totally counterproductive to be against media that brings attention to the crimes done to your people. Although complaining about it brings more attention to the game, so maybe that was Argentinas plan all along.

JaqFrost: The critics in that article do not mention wanting elves or magic in their games and the university professor is right, if they'd provided a possibility to play as part of the indigenous population, they could have avoided a lot of the inflamed opinions.

Since I haven't played the game, I can't offer an opinion on the content, but the reason I have been hesitant to buy it is all due to the topic of colonization and whether the game handles that in a way I can stomach.
If i recall correctly most american shooters don't let you play as terrorists or germans.

To me this is just as stupid as calling RE5 racist because the zombies were black (and the game was set in Africa).
When you portray the past you should do it realistically. And portraying the past can be very entertaining, informative and interesting.

Honestly I don't think most historical games, shows and movies are realistic enough.

I don't play shooters, so I didn't know that you shoot Germans in that kind of a game.

HERP DERP

You see, people complain about generic fantasy settings with the same old Elves, Dwarves and Magic, but when a developer actually tries to tackle an interesting and completely unused setting for a computer game, people get all retarded because it isn't familiar, calling it "racist" and other rubbish.
I'm glad. The game could use a bit of free publicity. Also, what better recommendation to gamers than being banned in a couple of countries?
isn't the game steam region locked from LAM?

In WW2 shooters you do.

I agree. I might buy it now just to spite the mind police. Pretty sure I'll be able to judge the game for myself without having some government rodent make the decision for me.
Good thing they weren't interested in games when Panzer General came out.

Actually they weren't when "7 cities of gold" came out either.

Good times;)
I didn't know about this game before and now I want to play it. Whenever I hear something potentially being banned, it makes me want it.
