Not in, but +1 for the giveaway, and welcome to the forums!
I'm definitely not a leech - I've entered three or four giveaways in the past few years, I think, and won one (Super Panda Adventures, although I'm ashamed to admit that I've forgotten who gifted it to me). Also, someone was kind enough to gift me Wolfenstein 3D on Steam for nothing in return (a kind Scottish fellow who shall remain nameless, lest I inadvertently cause leeches to fall upon him).
Whether I'm a zealot? I dunno, I suppose that's for others to decide. I do appreciate the generosity of people on this forum, and I do appreciate that a gift from others in a real community is much more appreciated than from a total stranger. The problem is that I see a lot of people entering that aren't part of this "community" - either their posts consist almost exclusively of giveaway entries, or they have the audacity to beg for someone to gift a game to them.
As I see it, GOG forum giveaways are gifts from friends to friends. We're all friends here. It's like meeting with a group of mates in a bar, offering to buy a round of drinks, when suddenly some complete stranger comes in and says, "yeah thanks, I'll have a beer".
That's why I do think there should be certain rules on giveaway entries - rep and join date being good and fairly reliable examples (although some users - like LesterKnight99 - seem to have a rep value that is constantly nosediving despite apparently doing comparatively little wrong) - to discourage leeching. I guess it should be up to the giveaway holder to determine where and when exceptions should be made.
You might argue that giveaways on these here forums certainly have the potential to bring more people to GOG who might otherwise have not discovered it. The question is, are these kinds of people really the sorts of people that GOG wants using up its bandwidth?
