I am. Been gaming since I was about five though (my dad introduced me at an early age), so I'm not a new gamer by any means. I lurk more than post, but am posting more now.

But I'm unluchy to,here on Namecc there are only old and fat green men,boring children and people that looks exactly like me!

This is sort of what I'm getting at. I think the gaming field has leveled a bit, and more females are prevalent in the communities.

In 2004, my (RL) friend's Lineage 2 clan decided to have a meetup IRL. This is what happened in the clan chat before the meetup:

Friend (male character, clan leader): I... have to confess something. I'm a girl.
Clanmate (male character): Wat. I'd have never thought... I'm also a girl, actually.
Clanmate (female character): I'm a girl too, I just thought no one would believe me!
...it goes on...
Clan co-founder (male character): Dafuq? Okay, if that's the tune I'm also a girl from now on. You weirdos.

At the meetup, everyone turned out to be female except the co-founder. He'd thought they'd been joking.

True story.

Female here. I usually don't announce I'm female or chat online in game. I used to guild chat on WoW and it was kinda rough cause the guys love to flirt and I was taken at the time which was even more awkward for me. CoD: BO was a whole other story.

Some communities are welcoming to the ladies, others still have douchebags. One thing that has drove me nuts is the girls that come on to talk and just flirt and do stupid crap for attention. Those girls give the real gamer girls bad names!
