It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Can't wait for the iTampon.
Oh, hang on...
TBH this is ridiculous. I have a Sony Reader and I don't even use that, I have a laptop that can do whatever I tell it to (I could make it brew coffee but I don't have a degree in engineering yet) so why should I get a gimped tablet with NO STYLUS?

Use the iTampon instead.

And the upgraded Max iPads
Hmm... I'm somewhat wondering why, exactly, anyone would ever want to buy an iPad. I mean, it's got absolutely nothing on the Kindle, and that fact really shines through if you compare those two. Perhaps the next generation iPad will be able to compete with the Kindle? I don't know. I don't have very high hopes for the iPad myself, but then again, I have always been very aware of what I buy, Tech wise, and i seldom fall for the Fandom Trap™ :)

If I should design a device like the iPad, I would add the following:
- Flash (unfortunately a web browser isn't very useful without flash these days, hopefully HTML5 will reduce the need for Flash in time)
- Multitasking
- PixelQi display, a dual mode screen with reflective (grayscale, eink-like) and transmissive (color, LCD-like) modes.
- Wacom tablet technology in addition to multitouch, like Dell XT2
- Allow third party software installation, especially stuff like ScummVM
- Allow it to work as USB host, so storage devices can be plugged directly into it
- Longer lasting battery

lack of a camera is disappointing.
not sure a 1ghz processor, and what seems to be a lack of a dedicated gpu like powervr on the ipod touch/iphone, is really up to the task.
icons look too spread out, and too small on the unimaginative tinkering theyve done to the basic iphone os.
other than those peeves i might get one. im in the market for a new ipod touch anyway and if a 4g version thats substantially faster than my current 2g (3g is not substantially faster in my view) doesnt come out by the middle of the year then ill get one of these instead.

Congratulations! You've just created the HP Slate!
The OP is such a retard, LOL. Who would buy that overpriced, streamlined, consumerist piece of buffalo droppings that Apple has spewed out this time? ROFLMAO what an asshole.
The HP slate looks nice though. The first time I saw it thought "that's what the iPad should have been like".

Really? Cool!
*Googles HP Slate, sees that every search result has pictures of Steve Ballmer presenting it*
Eh, suddenly I don't want one.

Eh, suddenly I don't want one.

If you Photoshop a Playboy bunny into the photos suddenly it's more presentable.
Soon, in a crowded situation near you:

http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/08/notion-ink-adam-stripped-bare-and-our-in-depth-video-hands-on/ <--- this is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Better screen (you can even turn off backlighting to save power), webcam, USB ports, full HD playback, HDMI out port, open platform so free apps guaranteed, reads many popular ebook files, reads PDF files, multi tasking, Flash support, Java support, etc. etc. etc.
Seriously, Apple should be ashamed for releasing something so ridiculously bad at such a high price.

It looks functional, good price range and the design is barely affected by all those ports. The major problem is... where the apple logo ?

Why? That's standard procedure for them.
I bet that thing is super fragile...
