Oh boy, I found my demo disc with the demo to Divine Divinity on it, I was addicted to this back in the day, never could find it locally. Anyone else play it? - The full version? Was it as good in the full version as in the demo?
I have Divine Divinity in my drawer, right here... And It IMO wasn't any good. But I didn't get far, I got bored pretty quickly, maybe I'll give it another chance...
I remeber this. It was quite good, but I wouldn't call it awsome. Unfortunately I didnt finish it, because the game was crashing all the time during one particular battle and I got rid of it. If I ever see it on GOG I'll surely buy it.
I had it, but didn't get too far into it. Definitely one of the worst-titled games in history, though.
They're making a sequel: Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.
I have it, it is rather fun. A bit of classic-RPG gaming with the influence of Diablo.
Never finished it though, got close... I think.
From my experience, I think it has an issue where the world-map is too open after the initial quest in the catacombs and village. While, complete freedom can be a good thing, it worked against the game a little.
I could never finish it because I got stuck, but I think it's a great old school RPG

It's actually the thirth game, the sequal was Beyond Divinity.
I really love this game (made by a company in Belgium: Larian Studios). It's still being sold as a budget game around here.
I even contacted the guys from Larian Studios telling them about GOG. They have this old strategy game: L.E.D. Wars which was a game they build in 6 months to persuade their publisher of what they could do. They were really interested but didn't have the time or resources yet to make the game playable on new PC's.
So a message to the GOG team: contact these guys and help them out making their game playable again ;-)

Another bug-ridden mess that had tons of potential. Come to think of it, I think that statement pretty much sums up computer gaming in the '90s. If I remember correctly I only made it a couple hours into the game before giving up. Lots of potential, little of it realized.
Never played Divine Divinity but I own and am currently playing Beyond Divinity. Great "old school" type RPG but some minor problems with character equip. though. All in all a great experience, if there is another one looming I'll be waiting.
Did not like it at all, wished I would have saved my money...

Everyone should take the advice of anyone who has an avatar of Fox Harris.
Yep, I still have it. I play every once in awhile. I play the off shoot, Beyond Divinty. BUt I am waiting for Divine DIvinity 2 (vaporware?)
I absolutely loved it. I'm not as much of a fan of Diablo-esque titles anymore, but Divine Divinity has the politics to keep me engaged. I've never actually managed to get anywhere in the storyline, mainly because I am too busy doing random things.
I bought it a couple weeks ago when I found it for 5 bucks. Have it installed on my rig, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet (too many other games on the go right now). I've mostly read good things about it though.
BTW, Beyond Divinity isn't considered an actual sequel by Larian, from what I've read, so Ego Draconis will be the official sequel.
I've played Divine Divinity to completion, and overall really liked it. It was maybe a bit too heavy on combat (the diablo-esque aspect Freyar mentions), but the universe, though classic, had depth and was quite detailed. There was humor when I didn't expect it, unusual things to do.. I think the music was quite good too.
I've lost the game now, so I'd love to be able to buy it from here and play it again...
Didn't really like Beyond Divinity though... strangely, I dont remember why now, but I stopped half-way through it.
On the other hand, I've high hopes for Ego Draconis.. 15-20 possible outcomes to each quests (if that's true, thats great ^^) , mind-reading (at the cost of experience points to force you to think before using it), customisable battle tower, transforming into a dragon.. Gamespot preview
Let's hope it turns out ok :)
