So are there any opinions about it?
Ive been considering getting it for some time, and i'd be glad if someone could share their experience.
i know i could just google some critics, but lately i feel like there isn't any honest PC magazine/website anymore.

A mate of mine was in the beta for the PC version and only got the game to run a week before the beta ended (shit PC) but he said it felt pretty faithful to the board game. He's the anal and complainy sort too so anything that felt like a minor deviation from the rules wolud have been mentioned

when did it come out? I thought it wasn't out till next month?

The bad:
GUI, AI, Real time gameplay, match-making service.
The good:
100% faithful adaptation of the board game.
You should get this game if you want an easy way to play Blood Bowl with friends & strangers on-line. If that's not what you want, you should probably avoid it.
The single player portion of the game is as dead as it is comprehensive. All of the Living Rulebook v5.0 is faithfully implemented, and the team management portion is very cool. But the AI knows just one tactic, namely the Dwarven Box. So the single player portion will get old really fast.
The UI isn't always informative, it is pretty much always inconsistent and convention-breaking, and the multiplayer match-making is just barely serviceable. You will get used to the former two reasonably quickly and they're not major problems. The latter, however, is very annoying. But Cyanide are allegedly working on something better.
The real time game mode is an unplayable, confused mess. I don't have a whole lot to say about the Blitz mode, since my experience with it is extremely limited, but basically it is LBR5.0 Blood Bowl with a bunch of added stuff that may or may not (I don't know) induce balance problems. The traditional/LBR5.0 mode is simply a totally faithful adaptation of Blood Bowl using the Living Rulebook v5.0.
So again: if you want to play Blood Bowl with people on your computer, then it is GETITNOWRIGHTNOWGETITGETIT!!! Fantastic. But nothing else it claims to offer is worthwhile, for one reason or another.

If you show a little patience, it's going to get a more global distribution deal. You won't have to buy it from their website (for their somewhat high price), and you won't have to deal with their DRM (you only get access to your download for a certain period after purchase...then it vanishes).

it's been for sale on their website for several months now. not sure why there is such a big gap in different releases.
I used to love the real blood bowl back in the day, so i'll probably check it out sometime. But i'm more of a singleplayer when it comes to PC games... so i'm hoping for news of some AI improvements in a patch.

I'm a bit concerned about that, too. I've read in a few places that the AI flat out doesn't have a clue how to defend.

I have tried it, but because of the long match loading time I'll wait until I buy a new PC.

Wonder if the xbox live matchmaking will be better, kind of hope so since its basically what live is for. Won't really matter to me though, going to be playing it with mates
Pity its not using Games For Windows Live or the PC & 360 versions could be interoperable, especially so for turn based, and we could have tournaments (perhaps it could be one GOG as the entry fee and winner takes the pot)

Actually, it is more accurate to say it doesn't know how to play offence. If you increase the difficulty, it mostly stops causing turnovers for itself through poorly positioned blocks with insanely low chances of success.
The real problem is it only knows how to build a cage around the ball carrier, and will attempt to do so regardless of the circumstances. It is almost completely oblivious to what's happening on the board.
If there's any chance at all you will play on-line, you should get it. If not, then you shouldn't. The matches are what BB is all about, and the AI - regardless of you skill - simply doesn't offer satisfying opposition.

Well, I haven't played the table top game in years but I was a big fan of it for quite awhile...I will definitely take a look at this when it gets a wider distribution deal.

ah, i'm not really that much into online playing maybe i'll even like the online mode, but for now i'll just wait till the price drops and maybe some AI patches or mods come out.
