The iOS port is hitting App Stores around the world today. It began in New Zealand early this morning (PST) and should arrive in North America around 8 PM PST. The link below will work when it goes live in your region:

I am super excited. This has been on my wish list for years (not necessarily an iOS port, that is, but I'll take whatever I can get.)
Yep, I sure do. Also like the original Mega Man series, and Legends.

If you have a PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube there is a Mega Man X Collection as well as Mega Man Anniversary Collection.

I love Mega Man X, probably my favorite in the series. I also hate buttons emulated on a touch screen. Especially for a game like this, which requires precision control.

Ah well, at least I have it on the Wii and an actual SNES cartridge. I might have to play it again this evening now.

That sounds great but I don't have any consoles.

Every now and then someone get's touchscreen just right. Unfortunately there is no standard so it's a bit of a crapshoot. Fortunately, bluetooth controls have arrived on the market and I believe Capcom is one of the publishers that often support 3rd party input devices.
Great game. Hard to finish unless you cheat with the hadoken!

One of the best cheats I know =)
Obligatory Egoraptor link!

It looks like there is an in-app store that lets you buy cheats. I don't know how I feel about that. I suppose I'll have to wait 9 1/2 hours to find out.

Not really. It's easy if you know the bosses' weaknesses.

I know at least Mega Man X5 is on PC, not sure how easy it is to run.

Though at this point buying a used PS2 and the Mega Man X Collection would probably be cheaper than buying all six games anywhere else.

And the hardest boss (the final one) is immune to the Hadouken.

Yes, still it helped me to get to it in better shape.

Great game.

Which version? I'm pretty sure I saw my brother do it on all 3 stages of the final boss on the SNES version (I hate him ;). I can do it on the first 2.

Maybe it's just me, but I found defeating most bosses with Hadouken much more difficult than using special weapons or even the normal shot. If you accidentally release a small shot from the xbuster before the Hadouken, a boss will be invincible during their damage frame when it hits. Worse, you can only use Hadouken at full health, effectively forcing you to perfect evading a bosses attack.

BTW, does anyone know if the PC port of Megaman X is any good? I think it was a DOS game.
I have all of the US released Mega Man games except for MMIII, MM3 PC, Mega Man Soccer, MMBN Battle Chip Challenge, ZX Advent, and the two collections.

Well, I only have one version of the games with multiple colors (MMBN3 and up) or are on multiple consoles like MMXCM.

Way behind on beating them, though. Only finished 1, 2, 5, V, 1PC, X1-6, MHX, MMPU, MML1-2 + MoTB, MMBN1-3, and MMZ1-3.

SNES version. Sigma's final form can only be damaged by fully charged buster or the Rolling Shield, he is immune to the hadouken. MMKB verifies, towards the bottom of the first bullet in the linked section.
Yup. I love Megaman X, and Megaman Classic too. The Battle Network series is decent. For those who love reading about Megaman, I recommend checking out "Guiding Rainbow's Light" if you want to see the development of Dr. Light, Wily, and the setting as a whole before the games began.

I really hope to see Megaman X9 someday.
