Merely curious.
It's been out in the USA for quite a while I believe and of course Japan. We're only just getting it in the EU next week. Have mine on order from Shopto.net for 33.85, so I should get it on Thursday next week and if not, then Friday. It's on the PS3. (On another note, Shopto is having a competition where you can earn store credit if you guess some of the world cup results right.)
I normally wouldn't post asking about this but seeing as it's billed as being a hard game where death is unavoidable and a designed feature, it might be wise to see if anyone fancies playing it online to help each other out. I'd prefer to play with people new to the game though so that there's a greater sense of exploration. (Would also help avoid griefers I guess if played online.)
Only problem is I don't have bluetooth headset or anything, so won't be able to chat unless a normal headset works. PSN is DavidGil.
Edit: As a side-note, does anyone play Blood Bowl on the PC? Got the game a few days ago for under £10 from Zavvi. Pretty enjoyable as long as you like tabletop games and such. Pretty new to it though, so not very good at the game.

I would buy it if it was realeased for pc or wii. I dont have ps3 and there is no reason for me to buy one.
I already have the USA version which I purchased when it was released. Thing is, USA version has a much larger fanbase than UK, therefore you are more likely to be able to invade.
And indeed be invaded.
As far as I'm aware you can't actually partner up in this game. I think its completely random who you can work with in demon souls unless I've got it wrong from the reviews of the game.

David Gil? Waaaait. Have you ever visited Dead Frontier? DukeofSpook?
Also yeah, i'm interested in Demon's Souls. Not too sure though.

Yeah, all you can do is choose to summon a blue phantom (or to be summoned into someone else's game)--you don't have any control over who actually enters your game. But co-op is basic enough to work well with random people joining you.

Afraid not. Dead Frontier rung a bell but upon checking it out, I don't recognise it. I only played the browser I thought of for a few minutes anyway so I doubt you'd recognise me from there.
Ralackk,
I looked into the game earlier and I think you can only join games where people are within ten levels of your character. No idea if it's random what games you can join though. Interesting fact though is I found out that the game's always online even if you don't actually put the online mode on (in an effort to avoid pvp and co-op). So you can always see traces of other players throughout the world, messages they leave and how they died. So, I guess you still get a good/full experience from the game if you don't like pvp and such. (At least I assume that is what's meant by the always online thing.)
It was news for me anyway, as I thought it was a feature you could turn off.
Edit: Ah, I see PaakType confirmed what you said. Pity really as it pretty much voids the thread but it's still nice to have a thread to talk about the game.

This would be so delicious on PC. Really jealous of PS3 owners sometimes. Might be one myself someday. :P
This game lacks voice chat. So you can only use the basic keyboard chat, which sucks because it's so slow.
Good game and it's not that hard as most say. Compared to most of today's games, it can look hard, but to any long time gamer with some patience, this game isn't hard (maybe only at bosses). Only Ninja Gaiden 1 was harder, imo...
And anyway, if you want a BETTER game (and also harder), look for an awesome good old pc game called Blade of Darkness. ;) I hope to see it some day on GOG, too bad not many people know about it. Very underrated game. By far, the best hack'n'slash game of all time, imo.

Yea the game looks amazing, won't be one of my immediate purchases when I get my PS3 but I'm sure going to pick it up down the road.

Blade of Darkness is awesome and if its harder then this game, I'm not as worried as I was about the difficulty. That said I've never completed Blade of Darkness as any of the characters it keeps kicking my ass.

The game is just so brilliant! I've spend over 200 hours playing it and will probably play again (different character this time ;) ) I have the Asian version so everything is in English.
Now, don't wory about the lack of a headset, since the game doesn't support voice chat... or any other chat for that matter. You can only make gestures and leave messages on the ground. It's a part of the game design - you are playing as a ghost and interact with other ghosts so there is no way to communicate.

It's not hard. It's unforgiving. Got on Tuesday. The NA version. Cause I didn't want wait for a couple of weeks... And would propably have spend the money on something else...
But it's a great game. Even though I still get my ass kicked most of the time. Atleast by bosses or cause own stupid mistakes like not being carefull and thinking that cause I killed that guy with ease last time so now I can just run him down...
And to me the text that says that you have been invaded allways is very nerve wrecking. But it's still good fun and damn addictive.

Themock: It's not hard. It's unforgiving.

This, pretty much. You'll probably die over and over and over at first because the game isn't shy about punishing you for your mistakes, but it really does a great job of teaching you how to play it.
