Roman5: A lot of people online have been saying the exact opposite
4 Hour campaign
Braindead AI
Cortana will not shut up
Brings nothing new to the table
I haven't played the game myself here but I'm getting some very conflicting messages from people here....
Neobr10: Well, i'm 4 hours into the campaign already and i haven't finished it. It may be 5 to 6 hours long, but not 4, unless it's a speed run or something. As for the AI, it's definitely decent, just like in previous Halo games. Yes, Cortana doesn't shut up. It doesn't annoy me, but i guess it might annoy some people. The story is more focused on Cortana this time, so it does make sense to see her talk more often.
Now, it certainly brings new things to the table, there's a whole new type of enemy to begin with. This is the first Halo that you get to fight something other than the Covenant and the Flood. This results in a few gameplay changes. You can't fight the Prometheans the same way you fight the Covenant. Also, there are many new weapons. The storytelling is way more mature than Bungie's games. It did change a few things, but it was expected that they wouldn't change the main formula that has always worked so well.
The only thing that remains pretty much the same is the multiplayer. The only difference is that you have to unlock stuff now like in COD.
Agreed, there's no way you can call that a 4 hour campaign, in 4 hours I was 1/3 the way through, and that's on Normal difficulty. Let's assume I suck, I don't really think I do, but for the sake of argument. Say a good player can get where I am on Hard in 4 hours. So... Legendary? Yeah, bullshit you can do 4 hours.
Oh yeah, free campaign missions online that extend the story. No project 10 dollar (no codes to play online). Content unlocks in Halo Waypoint. No cover based brown shooter?
The PC elitists complaining about Halo 4 really are hypocrites. It's "everything that's wrong with shooters today" except it does the exact opposite of the majority of the shit they are so fond of bitching about...
MS not only deserves credit for publishing a good game, along with 343 for developing it, they also deserve credit for not doing most of the bullshit that is common practice in the industry today.
Regardless of whether one likes it or not (hey if one can't stand dual analog shooters or something specific to Halo, fine, I get that) it is a great example of how I wish more games would be done these days.
