I'm assuming for 15 bucks or so this isn't very long. The demo left me unimpressed, it felt more generic than DA:O (and damn, is that generic).

Atari says it's "over 10 hours of gameplay" which means if you've ever played a video game you might spend five hours on it. ;p
Action RPG right?
I'm dying for another D&D game but I lost all interest when I found out about it being action RPG.

How's the character leveling and stuff like that?
PC players can't get it. Don't know about the PS3 players. Haven't heard any voice from them. BUt the XBox players are in an uproar about the bugs. Check out Atari's site and go to the Daggerdale forum to learn more.

Who knows? I got to kill like 15 goblins or so and the demo was over.

It was 4E rules but I could only seem to select ranger or fighter. I never could figure out how to activate my Kneecap special ability.

It looked pretty stripped down for the 4E rules. As for fighting it was about as thrilling as pressing the awesome button in the DA2 demo. "Face target, press A". Oh and all the NPCs (dwarves in this case) do the moaning thing, like Zelda where they make some generic moaning sound and you read the text.

Maybe if I'm drunk and it's on sale I'll get it for 5 bucks, but 15, lol, replay Torchlight instead, it's bound to be as entertaining.

Gamestop has it for sale on PC DVD here: http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/dungeons-dragons-daggerdale/90395

You're saying it's not actually shipping?

Oh man, I wonder how long until they nuke the entire forum? I remember they did that with the Alone in the Dark forum. I guess all the people asking to just patch the god damn game got to them.

I think they didn't patch the PC version out of spite against those of us who wanted a patch. :(

And then they released it on the PS3, patched and all. I wonder how much money they lost on that. :P

So is Daggerdale an old PC release just released on console (like Torchlight)?

I was talking about Alone in the Dark, sorry.

No, it's a new game that, in the case of the PC, gets a retail release 1 month prior to being available by DD. Huge fucking mistake that. By the time it gets released on the 24th next month, DS3 is likely to be available.

No.

Btw, Joystiq gave it a 1.5 out of 5.

After taking an actual look at it, it looks incredibly bad.

My bad, I see Daggerdale PC was released on 3/11 for PC? Right? So it's been out for 2 months or so. Hmm.

Anyway, my gut is to wait for a steep, steep discount, too much good stuff coming out this summer to waste time with a half assed RPG.

The demo will do nothing to change your opinion, I wager.

Speaking of which, I think I will put a DS3 pre-order next to my Hunted: The Demon's Forge pre-order, it looks like it will probably be unlike the previous games enough that I'll really enjoy it:)

I still waiting for an actual D&D RPG. Sucks to the fact that the last proper D&D game was NWN2 and that was half a decade ago.

Really wish they stop hogging the D&D license.

I'd say you ought to perk up since NWN 3 is on its way, but since it's being developed by the MMO studio with such great "hits" like Star Trek Online and Champions Online (heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy sarcasm on the word "hits" btw), I'm thinking the era of solid D&D games is dead and buried.
Hey Orc. The PC version can be bought via DL River something service. However there is a box version. That is the one that seems to be in very, very low quantity. So yeah I could DL it if I wanted to. But I would rather get the box. That's me. But I shall wait til they decide to fix the issues that are being reported before buying any version for what ever platform.
