For the past week, I've noticed that right around 6 am GMT, the GOG site is very unresponsive, to the point that it may become completely inaccessible for a period of time (i.e. repeated browser timeouts). Normally I'd think it was something on my end (likely my ISP), but on more than one occasion I've run into GOG's "oh noes" 404 error just before losing the site completely, which would seem to indicate it is something on GOG's end. Has anyone else run into this?
Yes, I've noticed periods where I was not getting timeouts but it was as if it was downloading at 0.01K/s. Never really took note of the time but it did seem to be the afternoon each time. Also had more replies eaten by the dreaded yet cute 404 page.
Maybe its when the GOG hamsters change shifts in the wheel that powers their server

Yeah, for some reason I reply to something, the thread I was replying to gives me the 404. Refresh, it's back, but reply isn't.
Yep, it's happened to me at times as well. I haven't noted the time though, sorry.
I can say it has happened here as well.

Thanks for pointing it out.
We'll look into it some more :)
Just wanted to say that I experience this with alarming frequency as well. For me, it usually happens during the work day. I haven't really checked the times, but my best estimate is that it usually clears up around 1 pm, CET.
Strange, that never happened to me.

I've had this same issue, I just chalked it up to some updates or something.
Just to confirm, this is happening again right now.
EDIT - And seems to have cleared up right after I posted.

Yes, I'm experiencing the same. It's quite annoying.

And it appears that my earlier edit was bit off. After browsing a few threads, I'm back to getting occasional "oh noes" errors just trying to get back to the main forum page.
I'll get the dev team to look at this on Monday first thing.
We can't have this interrupted service.
We believe we've uncovered the reason why this was happening and we've made some steps to resolve this.
We would appreciate it if someone could help check this, we'll try to do the same but it occurs around 5-6am our time :)
I might be back home by then, shall post if I can check.
