TBH, I think that if you're a psychopath with no actual human emotions that this might work; but in practice it completely ignores the way that the brain functions. Ignoring Valentines day is really only viable for people in a relationship with people that are also not interested in VD.

The reason why there's so much bitching about it is that it represents a status threat and once you've processed the dozens of reminders, you can't really unprocess them, so yeah.
