Good to know, I kinda expected there wouldn't be any difference. Like I said, most online game distribution services have reigons, but then again, most of them have DRM too.
GOG doesn't seem to be your usual kind of game distribution service :)

I think GOG staff did state that every product costs what it says on the game's page (6 or 10 US bucks), no more, no less, whichever country you might live in.
Which is how worldwide online distribution should work in the first place, if you ask me.

I totally agree, because online distribution incurrs the same cost no matter what the reigon, I don't see any reason to charge different rates.

I'll try and hunt down the article (Unless staff respond first), but there is a chance there may be region restricted games here due to publisher rights.

IIRC, prices should remain the same in USD around the globe, it was part of how they promoted the site.
Though in all honesty, if we see some things showing up at $14.95 to $19.95 (For new titles, globally), I'm not too concerned. It's the large jumps we see on other platforms, or the increase as a trend to higher prices that are an issue.

I hope they AVOID regionally restricted games.
I guess if they are desperate for games/publishers then they might have to accept that deal.. but frankly its just REALLY frustrating for everyone outside the region.
I've lost track of the number of times i've tried to buy a game on steam, only to be denied. And almost every weekend i get excited about the Steam Weekend Deal... only to end up really annoyed to find i can't get it.

Very true. My Steam games collection would be larger if I had access to the entire Steam catalouge.
Does anyone have any insight into the motives of publishers who restrict availability of games based on region? It seems counter-intuitive that a publisher would willingly restrict their game's sales.

well, i guess a lot of media has different publishers in different regions... so they probably CAN'T do it in other regions.
Codemasters tends to publish its own games i think, so they probably have more freedom to sign up to this kind of service than some other devs. Its a shame.
Hopefully, going forward into digital distribution, the lawyers will sort out a way to make games (and movies, tv, muic, etc..) available without all the annoying region restrictions.
Thats my dream... ;-)
