These games don't get mentioned much here for some reason,and in the case of Railroad Tycoon 2 we are dealing with a truly classic game.
And ,Yeah, RT2 needs to be on GOG. I have a CD version and the Steam version,but would like a GOG Version, since I would like a DRM Free version and apparently the installer on RT2 does not work in Windows 7 64 bit, which I will be getting shortly.

For that we'd need 2K onboard first, which I certainly wouldn't mind. They've got quite a big trove of games, not to mention they own Firaxis. I wouldn't be surprised to see them eventually join the GOG catalog, but I hope it'll be sooner rather than later.

RT2 is by far my favorite in the series as well. I was just playing it last weekend. Hopefully that series does show up here some day.

For old games with 16-bit installers, I just boot into a linux virtual machine, install the game with Wine, then copy the game back to my Windows drive. For most games this works fine. RT2 ran great for me in Win7 64-bit once I copied the installed folder over.

I have 2 and 3 on Steam, as well as Sid Meier's Railroads. Haven't really gotten around to playing them yet though.

And what about Traffic Giant? Am I the only one who remembers that game? :P

I love the these series of games, I have lost a lot of games due to moving house, getting married and having kids. I am now re-aquainting myself with my old games catalouge:) Just bought Theme Hospital and Rollercoaster Tycoon:) Will be trying to source RWTC games today aswell.

You're not the only one. I played the demo of that game quite a lot, it was so much fun setting the bus lines down. Apparently there is a 2012 edition of the game. I was surprised, but perhaps you already knew of it's existence.

Yeah, and it's amazing that it's avaible for free on GamersGate.

Industry Giant would be awesome too.

I wonder why they labeled it 2012... It's not a new release, the reviews go back to 2009.

Even if it would be just for the soundtrack. I want to have it on GOG. :)))

I am. Although, i haven't tried to get it running on Windoze 7. I have the first three, MS train simulator, Trainz, I guess if it's railroad related i have it. I'm still looking forward to what Cascade game foundry has up it's virtual sleave.

When it came out I played the demo to death and back. When I eventually bought the game years later it didn't really suit me for some reason. I think some levels had a serious bug where certain areas didn't connect with the metro system correctly, so no passengers were registered and no destinations were requested. Dead areas basically.

They probably made a compatibility fix or some such and labeled it 2012.

I also have the steam version but it gives me trouble. Most of the time when I want to play it says 'failed to find steam' and directs me to the steam page. I contact suppourt about it and got nowhere.

I played the heck out of Railroad Tycoon 2 and 3 when I was younger. In fact, those games are what got me hooked on 19th-century bluegrass music! I've tried to get back into them now that I'm older, but I can't seem to get back into the groove I had. :( It's a darn shame - those games are just. Plain. Awesome!
