Bigs: Magic the Gathering: Duel of the Planewalkers 2014
Thanks for the tip. Found it on the Play store as Magic 2014.
I found carmageddon works quite well on my phone. I also like the Anomaly series.

hedwards: What do you mean by proper? I know that LSL is available for Android.

FraterPerdurabo: Don't be afraid to try some actual tablet games. Many of them are very well thought out and actually quite a bit of fun.

hedwards: They can be totally addictive though.
True, but I feel that the shallow, repetitive gameplay can get old rather quickly.
Loom in ScummVM ;)
Dark Incursion is a good platform shooter.

Deadly Dungeons is a decent Eye Of The Beholder type of RPG for under a dollar.

There are a number of free RPGs in the Japanese style, like Machine Knight, the games, and tons of stuff from [url=https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=GAMEVIL+Inc.]GAMEVIL Inc, including the series. [url=https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sncompany.newtowergoogleglobal]Fantasy Defense is a nice tower defense game in the same style, if you like that kind of thing.

Oh yea, I forgot about that one. If you like that type of game its pretty fun, so seconded.
The Kingturn series are great turn based strategy RPGs. 9th Dawn is a meaty open world RPG with dual stick shooter controls. WazHack is an amazing side scroller roguelike.
Baldur's Gate I + II running via GemRB is pretty sweet. It's a bit buggy, and I had to turn on the setting that pauses the game each turn (in combat) to actually be able to control combat with a darn, but the idea of running something that used to require 25 kilos of computer on a <1 kilo tablet is pretty sweet. And the game controls better than 90% of what you'll find out there on tablets anyway. ;)

I see you've converted to metric since moving to Poland :D

Anyway, I'd suggest Cyber Knights Elite as a fun cyberpunk RPG.

With any luck he's seen the light, and will preach the wonders of the metric system to his fellow Americans once he returns home :-D

Not that I think it'll help.

3+ years of living in Poland and I still think in inches, pounds, feet etc :P
I want both of these systems to die. Over here, we are used to lbs and inches, but all the official documents use metric.

Best units of measure:

Feet
Inches
Kilometers
Yards

Completely useless units of measure:

Kilograms
Centimeters
(For the most part) Meters.

Nirth: Avadon The Black Fortress

It works as intended on my Nexus 7 and with the bigger screen on Nexus 10 it will be even better.

It's a very solid indie RPG and I clocked around 15 hours of total gameplay on Hard with turned to Normal against 3 bosses, but I played my first playthrough on Windows.

NOTE: I would recommend getting the game here but I don't think GOG's version is compatible with Android, you'll have to buy it at Play Store.
I don't know if it can be bought separately from Humble Store, but with "Humble Bundle for Android 2", I got both the Windows and Android versions of Avadon. The HiB Android version is also DRM-free (I presume the GooglePlay version is not?).
