Aliasalpha: Let us know what limitations there are if you find any would you? I'd just as soon not waste bandwidth on it if it turns out I can't really get over level 5 without paying or something, might as well just play evony...
phanboy4 found the link to the chart what I was talking about.
phanboy4: Another good thing is, in order to move from a "free" account to a "premium" all you have to do is buy *any* points package, even the $6 one, and you get permanent premium status, which gives you 2 more character slots, unimited gold storage, and unlimited auctions among a few other things.
So if you like the game, you can spend $6 and get Guild Wars level perks. Not really a bad deal.

This sounds like a good deal, I might try it after all.

phanboy4: No more than 10 sentences a minute for the general shout chat. Basically to cut down on spammers and gold farmers.
Hmm, brilliant idea actually!
I have been playing it a week now, and I don't feel "limited" at all.
And I mean, the GAME itself is free, the SUBSCRIPTION is free, so even if you spend 30-40 dollars on content, you are STILL getting an incredible deal. I am actually in the middle of writing an in-depth essay on DDO's new structure that I will post here if anyone's interested. I need to finish chapter 3, the conclusion, and give it an edit, and it's ready to go.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: I've been playing all of 5 minutes, and so far I'm aware of three limitations.
1) You have to pay for more than 2 character slots (although I assume you could just make more accounts).
2) You can't choose 2 of the races - Warforged and Drow elves.
3) You can't choose the class favored soul.

You get two slots per server. There's something like eight servers so you can theoretically have up to 16 characters at any one time. Moving between servers costs money though (as far as I know) so you can't just jump in and meet up with a friend.
Many things in the store can be purchased with "Favor Points". You earn these by completing quests and so forth. There are also special offers from time to time that allow you to get a premium extra for free, or earn some additional Turbine Points, or whatever.

Ah, that's good to know. My limitation were based off of a cursory glance at the game.

Was going to give it a try, downloaded the installer and then it gave me a error. After spending sometime try to fix the error I decided it was not worth it. Now I am thinking of giving Aion a try.
