I am a big fan of Bioware games. But I'm not rich fan of them. I would like to buy Mass Effect 2 DLCs already, but they cost twice the money you would pay for the full game.

So I am wondering, are there any Bioware points discounts? Is it just in my country they always stay at the same price, or it's global?

I'd love to play Shadow Broker and Arrival but I don't have enough money for them.. (rent, bills, etc)

They get (regional) discounts from time to time, but they never bother to advertise it. Shortly after ME3's relase Origin had a 50% off the 800pt pack (but not on the 1600pt bundle, go figure).
I guess your best option is to check both Origin and the Bioware store weekly, maybe they'll have another discount during the summer sales.
I hope so, because I heard ME2 DLCs are pretty good...
Wait for the summer sale, but check Origin frequently as well. Don't get them from the Bioware store, Origin is cheaper.

Keep checking Origin store from your Origin client. There was a 24h sale not so long ago but it could be seen only from the client. I believe they were 50% off or maybe more.

Mother of god... Yeah, Ive seen this once or twice - different offers from origin website andorigin client... how crazy is this...
How much does Origin sell them for? Currently origin is showing 1600 bioware points for 19,99€, and bioware's store sells the same for 13,94€. But since origin is also showing 800 points for the same 19,99€ I assume there's a glitch somewhere on origin's store.

Also, points bought on origins store work just as bioware's store? Can use the resulting DLC on steam's version of ME2?
PRices are regional. For me it's 15 EUR both on origin store and bioware store for 1600 points

I don't know about DLCs. It should work, because DLCs are tied to your EA online account and are downloaded by the game itself, automatically when you activate them / buy them.

PS. Did you try activating your steam cd key on Origin?

You can get DLCs for your Steam version. All DLCs are available through Cerberus and I believe all Steam versions of ME2 come with that (there should be a serial key available).

Lair of the Shadow Broker is awesome, I enjoyed it a lot even if it's focused on a character I dislike. It has a good story, great music, a few intresting gameplay twists and additions (including the much needed character respec) and a ton of easter eggs. Well worth the full price imo.

Overlord is not bad, but suffers a lot from being short and allowing no interaction with squadmates at all, they help in combat but never talk (this is true for all the DLC unfortunately). Wish I waited for a sale before buying it.

In retrospect, Arrival is probably the one I would have skipped had I known what to expect. Too short, extremely linear, very few dialogue choices. Combat is harder if not frustrating due to Shepard being alone all the time. Story wise it contains some pretty important events, but overall the execution was 'meh'.
Maybe, but now I'm playing ME3, and there are so many references to events from DLCs, I'd love to play them, cause I'm kind of ME fan, so I will buy them anyway (as well with Kasumi's stolen memory), but not for that price...
They rarely if ever go on sale on consoles too, right? DLC in general I mean.

Kind of lame that I am catching up on older console games I missed and their DLC all costs more than the games themselves.
Every now and then an ad for a sale on Bioware points pops up on the Bioware Social Network however that is rare.

Right now best bet is to watch Origin or hope they update Origin to sell DLC for older games without the need for Bioware points.

It would be awesome, but I realy doubt it. Why? Because Bioware points are better (to them). For example, If I wanted to buy three biggest DLCs for ME2, I would have to spend 1680 points or something like that.

As you can see, you will always overpay with that pricing system. You will be left with some Bioware points you don't need or you will need to buy another package, to buy more DLCs.

It's a shame EA just refuses to make ME2 GOTY or just DLC pack...

Well it is still possible. Nintendo and Microsoft have/are phasing out the point system in favour of straight cash pricing/transactions so hopefully this trend will go around. But again I did say "Hope" so we will just have to wait and see.
