I am enjoying this game so much... Is very funny, lots of possibilities in the character (Skills, builds, role in the combat), very nice PvE and PvP. The maps are big and beautiful and its full of people... People everywhere! (Even some bots :( )

My computer can handle medium graphics but I need more ram and stuff por smooth gameplay in WvW.

The personal story is like an ARpg, the rest of the game is an MMO or, like I read in some webs, "cooperative RPG".

Any player around?
I bought that game after my friend praised like a mad genius after finding a new toy to play with :D It also stutters like heck, and it lags for me. So, I will wait for a moment before starting to play it proper.

I'm playing it, sort of. I'm a level 38 human warrior.

I like that the game fosters spontaneous cooperative play (mostly), and I also like that I can play and progress and find cool stuff just by wandering off somewhere. On paper, it's arguably not so different from running through quest lines, but in practice, I find it much more fluid and satisfying.

However, I don't like that I've now wandered through three or four human zones (100% in two of them) that are all practically the same thing: rolling forested hills populated by bandits, centaurs, ettins and giant spiders. Can I see something different now, please? Maybe I should go check out the other races' zones.

I have completely ignored the 'personal story.' I honestly don't care about it.

I don't know if I'll play much more from here on out, as I have no one to play with. My guild and I have abandoned Everquest 2 as an unsalvageable wreck, but only one of my guildmates is playing GW2, and I don't get to see him much. Most of the others are playing TOR. A few weeks of playing alone is usually about all I can stand in any MMO.
i started playing a week ago or so, but i suck at it. it's the first mmo for me. and i agree on the cooperative rpg thing. i never felt so alone in any game ^^
i think it plays like a pimped diablo 2 mixed up with minecraft which is fine for me...
I don't have it yet; I'm still on the first one. But ever since 2 came out, the problem of lag has really gotten worse.

In 2 the graphics seem to be more cartoon-y, and I'm pretty sure someone said they did away with "click to move". And that everything is more repetitive. I'll get it some day, but who knows when. Right now I'm happy to stay with 1.
Level 28-ish Sylvari warrior lady here, on EU - Gunnar's Hold.

I'm currently taking a break from it. It has its pros, certainly, and I appreciate what it's trying to accomplish, but, well... I LIKED the questing aspect of WoW - more often than not each quest had a nicely written story to it, whereas here it's just "do these chores until the bar fills up, and off to the next heart on the map." The dynamic events are pretty samey after a while, and the number of boring escort events is staggering.

The environments are pretty enough, but nothing to write home about, and with all the hype surrounding the combat I thought it would be much more tactical.

...Aaand I just remembered this was a "any GW2 players?" and not "GW2 - analysis and critique" thread. I'll shut up now. :P

If you talk to the NPC's, you get the story behind it. If you just run around doing quests, you miss some of it. >.>
Been playing since the first beta weekend. Almost done with world exploration. Just need to explore one more zone and grab 1 POI and 1 Vista in the Eternal Battlegrounds. Might take a little break after that. Maybe.

Played alone for the most part. Will probably need to find an active guild at some point to tackle the dungeons. Current server is Stormbluff Isle.
Yep. Enjoying the game so far.

The game is really beautiful for the most part, runs pretty smoothly at almost max settings (although WvWvW gets down to a low number but still playable). World exploration as well as renowned hearts can be done alone for the most part, although it can be done in groups I like that the game doesn't completely force cooperation in every single thing. The personal story (well the one I got to) is kind of average for the most part. Gotten into PvP somewhat and it seemed interesting, although I'm not that good at the moment and trying to figure out a weapon and trait build that will benefit me. WvWvW is rather chaotic but still enjoyable (that is if the server you're on is in the lead). Only got to one dungeon but seemed interesting and very rewarding, although I kind of question the difficulty because I kept dying. Overall liking the game.

I do talk to most. I'm one of those mutant people who actually read the quest text in WoW. It's just not compelling enough.

And the personal quest thing? Maybe it's just the Sylvari, but it's kinda stiff and dull, and full of characters with no personality.

Oh well, maybe higher level zones will be a bit better.
I've got an Asuran Elementalist and a Human Necro. I've enjoyed what I've seen so far, though at times I feel a little aimless... I only played it for a week or two before taking a break though, as I'm waiting on a new video card to arrive in the mail. In the mean time, at least I can play some great older and indie games on the dying card I've got. :)
I'll stick with the better game (GW1).

Or just boycott NCSoft entirely after their bullshit shutdown of City of Heroes.
